I'm literally only on episode 4 of Lie to Me and if Gillian Foster and Dr. Lightman aren't in love by the end. I'm going to go insane. That pining look at the end of the episode? you can't convince me he's not sad watching her walk away to her lying husband
Update. Just got the news (scrolling through cal lightman tags) that they do NOT get together bc the show got canceled. BUT everyone else also agrees they were in love. JOYS. time to go write a fic about it

I, like most everyone else. Am currently obsessed with the summer I turned pretty season 3. Mostly Conrad, of course. And me and my friend have been thinking, Jeremiah and belly should have been best friends. Their relationship was meant to be a few months, something comforting at the start of college, being stupid in a relationship.
And then they should have mutually split, or she should have broken up with him because they realized they're supposed to be best friends. Dancing at parties, being each other's wingmen, going to cousins the way it used to be for holidays. They've always been close friends right? So give that back to them. Because it feels like that's all they're supposed to be.
BUT that got us thinking.
Say belly and Jeremiah broke up during their freshman year. A bit of awkwardness at first, getting over the relationship, etc. Then they're friends again.
Would conrad still have stayed away? Would he have continued to avoid them, and not come home for holidays, and not spend summers with them in cousins? Would he have avoided her so he didn't have to feel the pain?
Or would he have come back and been with them all if he knew she wasn't dating his brother anymore?
Was seeing them together the only thing that kept him away?
Would they all be best friends again through the rest of college, avoiding that slight tension? Would they have grown back together organically?
Or would he have stayed away and seen her on Christmas for the first time in cousins, the same way it actually happened? And that would have been the defining moment of OH WAIT it's been 3 years I can want you again?
Please share your thoughts I need to know.

James, who's love language is physical touch and remus who has sensory issues and doesn't like to be touched. But when James hugs him, it's not TOO bad, he supposes.
And they get good at communication and cues to better show their affection and understand boundaries
