341/?: Frances Ha (2012) - watched 11/30/24
I’ve seen this once before and really liked it, but I liked it even more this time. I think the first time I saw it I identified too much with Frances’ arrested development, and that phase is definitely much better in the rear view mirror than it is to live. The writing here is wonderful yet still feels spontaneous and real. Plus there’s my Wide King Adam Driver in a small role, back before he really broke out. It is interesting how distinct he is — all the things he brings to his starring roles are already there.
