Hi, Tumblr. It’s Tumblr. We’re working on some things that we want to share with you.
AI companies are acquiring content across the internet for a variety of purposes in all sorts of ways. There are currently very few regulations giving individuals control over how their content is used by AI platforms. Proposed regulations around the world, like the European Union’s AI Act, would give individuals more control over whether and how their content is utilized by this emerging technology. We support this right regardless of geographic location, so we’re releasing a toggle to opt out of sharing content from your public blogs with third parties, including AI platforms that use this content for model training. We’re also working with partners to ensure you have as much control as possible regarding what content is used.
Here are the important details:
We already discourage AI crawlers from gathering content from Tumblr and will continue to do so, save for those with which we partner.
We want to represent all of you on Tumblr and ensure that protections are in place for how your content is used. We are committed to making sure our partners respect those decisions.
To opt out of sharing your public blogs’ content with third parties, visit each of your public blogs’ blog settings via the web interface and toggle on the “Prevent third-party sharing” option.
For instructions on how to opt out using the latest version of the app, please visit this Help Center doc.
Please note: If you’ve already chosen to discourage search crawling of your blog in your settings, we’ve automatically enabled the “Prevent third-party sharing” option.
If you have concerns, please read through the Help Center doc linked above and contact us via Support if you still have questions.
This is such bs
Life really is like a lot, and suspecting I might have some level of the tism is also a lot
Woodblock picture of a soldier striking a cunty pose in front of a war crime not related
I hear people have criticism for the spirits in Korra, and there are some good points like I agree that the dark spirits were not done as well as the original series. But for how they look, the idea that some of the spirits are too simple and Ghibli-like in style, idk how much that holds water when you see examples of mythical creatures/spirits represented like this
I made this of my ATLA/LoK OC Ori a long while ago. I’ll end up explaining how the board works later, but it has to do with the Liquid Airbending Posts [1] [2] I posted earlier. I wanted to post it as its own thing cause it took a while since it was my first attempt at backgrounds.

Dry Ice Airbending Part 1
Continuing on from my previous post, I described some of the uses and techniques I thought about when it comes to using Dry ice with cold airbending. I had mentioned the effects on the body like causing Dizziness, Panic, and suffocation with how CO2 replaces and competes with oxygen in the body, and being a fire suppressant like a fire extinguisher.
Another use I can imagine is using the rapid expansion of gases by changing the temp back up on dry ice (you could also do this with liquid air as well). The rapid expansion exerts a strong amount of force. Enclosed containers without an exit point easily become an explosive as the dry ice returns to ambient temp and sublimates from a solid back into a gas. As you’d expect, directing all that expansive force in single direction like with a kick would be quite powerful. Comparatively, much more powerful than a normal air kick. Here I have shoes that hold onto dry ice in the soles for uses like this.
The shoes are there to protect the feet from direct contact with dry ice when standing on it.
This could also be used for mobility, like rapid dashing and propelling even faster than using normal airbending. I’d imagine this would take gliders and glide suits to a new level of aerial agility and speed when combined with this technique.
The ferocity and direct approach of using airbending like this is not unlike the way firebending is used. It’s a bit of a departure from the circular movements of traditional airbending, but I think it makes sense considering that the OCs I have in mind haven’t gone to train traditionally with the Air Nation and learned by imitating the other elements around them. (Random thought: You’d think Aang or Korra would’ve used their firebending to jet boost while on their glider since they can use more than one element at the same time, but I haven’t seen either of them do that to my knowledge)
The shoes obviously have a limit of how many uses before running out and then having to rely on regular, but that’s a nice thing about airbending, air exists in abundance. Just needs a tiny bit of time to gather more CO2 from the air into dry ice.
(I used pink in the shading for dry ice clouds and the dry ice itself because I wanted the visual language to be clear it wasn’t just any old cloud or mistaken for water ice or water mist. I was thinking about yellow, but I didn’t think it would work since earthy dust clouds and sand bending are yellow already.)
Another use is coating or buffing objects with dry ice to strengthen/ protect an object and make it easy to manipulate and wield. I’ll talk about that in the next post though
growing up as a cis girl the patriarchy told me “you’re a girl because of the way you were born, there is nothing you can do about this, you have no say in your gender” and i hated being a girl because it wasn’t my choice it was a prison and the trans community told me “you’re a girl because you say so, your view of yourself is the most important thing, if you change your mind that would be ok” and it made me proud to be a girl and feel empowered in my gender and i wasn’t trapped anymore and then terfs come along and tell me “you’re a girl because of the way you were born, there is nothing you can do about this, you have no say in your gender (but like in a woke way)” and they somehow expect me to be on their side?
if you respond with some terf shit im blocking you lmao
I’m so happy someone wrote this because I feel the same was as a cis girl. I felt pressured to be feminine and went full nlog because I felt too ugly and fat to be “feminine” and I was in an academic setting where it’s a nono. Then the trans community was so proud of their femininity it made me feel gratitude for being born a woman. Trans youtubers empowered me to buy my first skirts and dresses and I no longer felt “stupid” for doing it. I took another colleague that felt “stupid” for being feminine dress-shopping once and we’ve been friends ever since and she now dresses up all the time and tries to feel cute and feminine and I’m so happy to see her like that. The trans community destigmatized being feminine for cis women more than any girlboss feminism I’ve seen and we owe it to trans women.
A trans woman was the one to make me realize I was a trans man. I’d always thought all girls hated being girls, that being born female was a terrible curse we all just had to endure. And then I met a trans women who was so, so fucking excited to be able to wear skirts and cute tops and makeup at last, after years of fighting for the right to get on HRT. I saw the pure joy she felt as she did a little twirl in a skirt and I realised being female isn’t bad. It’s not bad at all. I’m just not female. And I can experience that joy, too. And then I got my HRT and my voice dropped and I got hairy and I learned what it was to be happy with your gender. It took seeing a joyful trans woman twirling in a skirt for that to happen for me.
Thank you trans women.
I feel like this also might be relevant.
I’m trans but there is a special joy I experience when cis people experience what gender euphoria feels like, how fun it is to adjust your expession even if you identify with the gender you were assigned at birth. Cis people unlocking gender+ is so good because it shows how the trans experience can enrich lives and just… spread joy and happiness <3. Stuff like this makes me happy
And in a great mobius double reacharound in return cis people dressing/expressing themselves by not confirming to gender stereotypes also helps trans people who can’t pass or don’t want to including butch/masc trans lesbians and femme/girly trans men <3
[ID: A screenshot of a twitter thread by @/JoCat105 which reads: “the understanding of “trans people don’t need to ‘pass’ to be considered the gender they are” made me realize that wait a minute if trans people don’t need to pass, cis people don’t either right? and that has helped me explore myself so much without fear of not being a “real” man
i guess what I’m saying is kind of thank you for all the trans folks who encourage being who you are in spite of what society tells you. I know it’s not the same with cis people, but it’s at least helped me feel more comfortable in my own skin. yall are good role models” /End ID]
It makes me deeply sad when cis people put their resentment at their own gender onto trans people who experience euphoria for having the same gender. I love getting to see cis people doing the exact opposite of that. I think everyone benefits from examining their gender and finding what makes them euphoric, from realizing there are no rules and seeing that not as a destruction of their experiences but as an oppurtunity to construct a more healthy self conception. If being a woman doesnt require resenting being a woman, is that not permission to free yourself from the resentment, a freedom to love yourself and your gender with reckless abandon? I hope more cis people can learn this lesson. I know its one I have imparted to people in my life, and benefitted from when I received it.
I cannot begin to express how beneficial it has been to my comfort and happiness in my own gender to know and speak to and see and hear and be in the presence of trans people.
Nobody showed me how to love or enjoy my masculinity until trans men did. I didn’t even know that “enjoying” it was an option! *gestures at gender* You mean this fucking thing is more than just a set of imposed requirements I get to feel bad about failing to live up to? I didn’t realize until later how fucking lonely it had felt to be a man who had been assigned his gender without being taught how to think about it.
I owe a debt of gratitude to trans people, to trans writers, to trans artists and activists, because their experiences helped me finally see myself as a man for more than just the amino acid accidents in my cells.
Trans people and trans thought has helped liberate me from oppression in my own gender, I don’t know a world where I don’t have a moral duty to push for their liberation in kind.
Been busy from work, not much time to draw, so I’ll put some older drawings on here.
A big thing that inspired me to draw is Atla related. One of the ideas I had was how there could potentially be a new Sub-type for Airbending that hadn’t been explored in the shows or extended media from what I’ve seen.
So I propose Liquid Airbending, or cold airbending to include dry ice in it.
These are my first drawings I made using a tablet, so they’re very basic. I haven’t gotten down a distinct visual language for how to represent dry ice, liquid nitrogen, and liquid oxygen, so they’re going to change and vary while I’m trying to figure it out.
Air is primarily composed of nitrogen, and oxygen with very trace amounts of other gases like carbon dioxide in our world
I don’t know how useful or fun in a worldbuilding sense it would be to nail down the exact percentages, but I’d think in the AtLA world, their air composition is different. We can see that they have giant bugs in their world, which according to some scientific theories would require more oxygen to get to bird size.
Additionally, I think the CO2 is probably higher after thinking about the jennamite creeping crystal. I’m not entirely sure how jennamite works, but I assume to create a sugar-like rock candy crystal, it’d have to be pulling CO2 from the air. I'm guessing it reacts to people so strongly because people breathing while next to it is giving off CO2 and their ambient body temp warming the gem is causing the reaction to happen quicker than how it would under natural conditions in the environment.
The attributes and qualities Cold Airbending has
I felt like the other elements have many different sub-bending types and air bending had a lot of potential to even that out.
I figure it would come from a different philosophy or mind set than traditional airbending from the nomads, and I came up with my OC as more science and engineering minded (He was an equalist during Korra’s time and became an airbender after harmonic convergence. He has more of a backstory as you expect from someone who once hated benders to now becoming a bender themselves, but I’ll get into it at another time.) Liquid Nitrogen engines did exist in the real world, so I figured that would fit in LoK more technologically advanced and somewhat steampunk setting.
There’s a few techniques or applications to this sub bending that I’d like to illustrate to get my point across, but I’ll save that for another post
finally 😤
