Even without her uttering it, he knew that she was not entirely secure with the idea of Shukaku making an appearance. He could not blame her to any degree. The few times she had seen him when he was bound to Gaara’s body, he was not the kindest creature. He had thought Temari to be a worthless nuisance. Something that had transferred to Gaara – even though their mother’s whispers that broke through Shukaku’s influence to keep him from actually causing harm to his sister. Excuse the time during the Chunin Exams; yet throwing her into a tree was better than the alternative.
“Thank you.” would be all Gaara would utter before he began to compose hand seals for that of the Tanuki Neiri no Jutsu. A last smile was offered to her, to try and reassure her before it took its toll. He did not think he would be out long enough for it to do damage to his psyche, but he would not know until it was done. Darkened eyes fell shut, and his body began to sway from side to side. Only when his legs began to buckle did his sand rise up to catch him, giving support at his wrists to keep him upward. It took a moment for Shukaku to fully awake, to get his footing.
As eyes opened, the whites were tainted black, and the normal icy blues altered to the golden hues.
Irises shook slightly as she kept them on his form, waiting, watching as he performed the jutsu that he did. Honestly, Temari never was okay with this, but she would be okay with it because it was Gaara. He was her little brother, and she did love him endlessly. She would go to the ends of the earth for him and Kankuro both. They were her world, despite how she acted or referred to them as. Honestly, Kankuro always got the short end of the stick, but that didn't matter. If someone hurt either one of them, she would make sure they would pay.
Even if she wasn't fully for fighting.
A soft sigh would fall from her lips as she continued to watch and wait for something to happen. What would she do? If something had happened to Gaara, she wasn't even she if she could stand up to him. Not because it was the three tails, because it bore the face of someone special to her.
After everything was finished, all she could do was stare and wait for him to say anything, something.

He was not worried about whatever it could be that Shukaku wanted. Since his hatred began to subside, his actions were not as dark, and even the competition between himself and Kurama did not seem to be as important. That would leave the question as to what would be left for him. Shukaku only gave him hints now, as opposed to going on crazed rants trying to convince Gaara to do whatever he pleased. It was an interesting change but, being left in the dark made him uneasy. Just as much as it did to Temari he was sure. If Kankuro knew of it, he knew that his brother would have reservations as well.
“No, but I think I can take a guess.” there were not many that they – either Gaara or Shukaku – would even think of seeing at the graveyard. At first he thought that it might be the grave of his mother that he would want to see, but what would he get from that? Even with prodding now, Gaara could not get a direct answer out of him, and he was softly grumbling over the sister’s presence, but Gaara was not about to tell her that part. “He is going to come out for a moment for this. Are you comfortable with that? He promises to behave.”
She sucked in a breath.
He was going to come out?
Temari could only blink as her fingers twitched for a brief second before they went to rest on top of the clasps of her fan. Even if Gaara promised he would behave, Temari couldn't help it when it came to fearing -- well no, not Shukaku. Honestly, he was better now than he ever was in the past.
She feared -- something happening to Gaara in the process.
❝--Fine.❞ Eyes pointed towards her brother while a terse exhale would leave her lips. She could have known that she was acting a bit off, but she would act as though she was fine if he asked.
ningyozukai:
Did she have to always look so know-it-all? And the pleasure she takes in his discomfort miffs him, too. She was such a bitch sometimes and she didn’t even do anything!
He wipes his nose with the back of his hand, easing closer to his sister only to slide his now wet hand along her shoulder, “How’s about this for spreading germs?”
Before she could even stop him, she could feel his hand running down her shoulder. Spine shivered as her hairs stood up on the back of her neck.
❝---If I get sick, it will be on your head.❞ She reached over and flicked his forehead before reaching into her pouch to pull out a handkerchief. ❝Clean yourself up.❞
Floral Arrangements | | Ino & Temari
platinumcosmos:
The afternoon was, in fact, as cheery as it’d been in a long while. Now that spring had finally reared its long overdue head, flowers were blooming once more, and that meant a jump in business for Ino’s shop. The shelves were fit to burst with colorful petals, air thick with pollen and sunshine.
With a quiet sniff, Ino stared down at the arrangement under her fingers, baby’s breath perched delicately between her fingers. When the door bell jangled, she paid no heed, instead calling out to the presumed customer as hues focused on the blossoms on the counter.
“Sorry. I’ll be with you in a second!”
The tones that came from the back of the store sounded chipper -- happy almost as she spoke a certain phrase that caused Temari's eyebrows to raise ever-so-slightly.
❝Hn, keep me waiting? I do have places to be, Ino.❞ Tones were indeed harsh but they were laced with some teasing tone. She couldn't help it, honestly. Ino left her room to tease.
❝So what? Do all your customers get this treatment?❞
.....Wait for it---.

Never would Gaara blame Temari for what had happened. While he would never admit it, he was relieved to a degree she had not been there. Yes, there was a chance she could have won against the Akatsuki members that had taken him, but with the skills Deidara and Sasori possessed, he was grateful Temari had been nowhere near the village, out after him until after the fact. He knew that that would win him no points, and could potentially offend her. She was strong, with enough skill and intelligence to become Kage level if she so wished. That he knew, was thought for another time. She would probably smack him – or attempt – if he was to say anything.
Her worries he tried to ease were not unrequited. Then tension could be over-looked, expected. It made him not hold onto it for too long, simply until the message came across – as it most likely had already. Such contact was rare enough that he did not end it yet despite that fact. He took a step closer, trying to become comfortable by putting his chin close to her shoulder for that moment. “Alright.” was the only word that fell from his lips before contact was broken. His hands fell back against his sides and he took a step back to pivot back toward the entrance, walking silently through.
Despite being close -- Temari would never get used to this. The hugs, the affectionate touches. She couldn't help but freeze up every time before returning the favor. The sand rose would get used to it eventually -- but time would tell on that one. No matter, a hand rose to pat the back of his brother head as he rested it upon her shoulder.
That hug lasted a lot longer than their hugs normally did.
Sighs. That small exhale would calm her nerves just a bit as her heels clicked against the ground as she followed after him.
❝--Did he tell you why?❞ Honestly some part of her still feared the beast within but she knew better now. She knew she didn't have to fear him. He respectively was a part of her brother and she loved Gaara.
All of him.
Considering Kankuro has not been seen in the manga for some time, do you have any headcanons as to what may be happening with him / how any of it may affect Temari?
ooc; fIRST OFF YELLING AT YOU BC I DONT WANT TO THINK OF THIS. ohymgod
----Ever since that one incident where she almost lost not one, but both. Her brothers -- Temari had become more protective, more so than she usually was. Ever since they became close -- that fear she had developed as a child turned into a fear of losing her siblings.
The two people that mattered to her.
Days passing that event -- Temari couldn't help but worry -- sometimes even stress over being far from the village for too long. It wasn't much at first but each time she left to hand deliver papers, her worry only escalated into something more along the lines of anxiety.
She keeps it under lock and key -- and rarely does she let others know how much stressed she is when she is in a different village.

Have you, or would you ever, consider Shukaku a part of your family?
Well — this was unexpected to say the least. Shukaku? Family?
If they asked her when she was younger —- she would have flat out said no, noway that thing was part of her family. Family had always been an iffy topic with her and her siblings. They used to be just people — always stuck together — there were emotions, other than fear and anger.
Now? It was different — these years were kind to them to say the least. They cared for each other — loved each other for once. There was no fear — no anger.
It was refreshing.
❝—Tch.❞ Tones sharp as she placed her hand upon the clasps of her fan. Quickly toying with it for a brief moment before exhaling and dropping her hand to her hip.
❝If that beast was on it’s own I wouldn’t even give it two glances.❞ She paused. Temari never was sure how to word affection — or love in a sense. She never was good at it — it made her feel differently, a good different — that she never was used to.
So, she merely gave a one word answer before pressing her lips together, ❝Yes.❞
He had been there from the start, why wouldn’t he be?
ningyozukai:
”Oh, fuck yo-…ooo—ACHOO!" his hood slides down over his eyes and it’s only with a grunt and a glare fit to shave ice does he shove it back up on his head.
”Just keep walking and stop admiring the roses like some little teenager. If we’re late I’m blaming you.”
His reaction was well priceless.
She couldn't help the small smirk that tugged at the corner of her lips as hands placed on her hips. Fingers pressing into the mesh that clung to her form.
