i'm a little behind on my reading because i got possessed by smut demons again and a lot of the fics i'm actively reading i've already mentioned, but a few i don't think i've rec'd yet that i really enjoyed are

i just love the comedy of this. it's such a fun set up, and one that isn't wasted at all. every joke is perfectly executed

plus, kayr0ss's writing style and characterisations are a complete and utter delight. i'm especially fond of Rumi in this one.

When Mira says something she maybe (definitely) shouldn't in the throes of passion, it leads to a surprising confession from Rumi. Rumi, who can and does come. Rumi, who can and does come only when she is alone and at her own hand...and who would like to be able to eventually come with her girlfriends and under their tender (and enthusiastic) attention.

i'm super weak for anything that gives Rumi a weird relationship with her body and sex and pleasure and this is that in spades.

Zoey and Mira have been best friends for five years and housemates for four and a half and life is good! Well... Mira's library section and work events are all smooth sailing, which she desperately needs because the rest of her life has been feeling rough. And Zoey? She likes working hard! Taking any and all opportunities that come her way! But it would be kind of nice to slow down sometimes. And to not be treated like she's expendable... Could finding a dog in the middle of a storm be the thing to fix everything? Probably not. But she's very cute, and weirdly clever, and they love her.

i'm going to give you the big disclaimer that's also in the tags: Rumi is a dog for now. she is actually a human. i'm on my hands and knees begging you to read that tag and understand she is going to be a human again.

with that out the way, this is so much fun. unicyclehippo has absolutely mastered Zoey's inner monologuing and it's never been clearer than it is in this fic.

absolutely wonderful AU with one of the best and most realistic portrayals of a polyamorous relationship i've seen in fic. there's a lot of love for the characters here, both the ones from canon and the original characters used to flesh the world out, and it just oozes out in the writing.

unfortunately very true. Doing Better does not always mean never being upset or never being triggered or never having trouble. often Doing Better means experiencing those things and being able to keep going/cope healthily/move on. if you’re in a bubble with no sensation, if you’re numbing yourself out, that’s not what recovering really is. it won’t help you have a happier life it’ll just make your world smaller and smaller until you can’t fit anywhere anymore. gotta learn to make peace with the hard stuff too, that’s the only way to keep going

All this discourse over who does "painting with light"

Hiroshi Nagai's paintings need sunglasses to look at.

They look like how it feels to walk across a parking lot on a 98° summer day without a speck of shade in sight.

They look like heaven but also like you'd burn your bare feet on the ground.

Even when you can see shade you know it's not enough and the minute you step out you'll be burnt to a crisp like a vampire.

And it's BEAUTIFUL

I'll throw in the wonderful Eizin Suzuki into this ring too, a man whose work just breathes light without actually using dynamic lighting in the usual way. It's no surprise both Nagai and Suzuki are both considered prolific in art pertaining to the city pop genre because they're able to paint these kinds of scenes with a delicate touch.

This feels like I could trip on that radio and fall right into that water, feeling the crystal waves as I drop in.

And this, a nice stroll down a resort strip, where my sunscreened skin could literally feel cooked if I leaned too close to the tiling.

And then a nice stretch of summer street, wherein you could see your face in the flushed red of that car provided it didn't blind you from its sunny reflections.

I don't think I even need to say anything more, Suzuki's a massive influence in how he even places colours so warmly in such unorthodox manner. It's a naturally sunkissed talent~ 🌊

Venezuela Earthquake Relief

I'm making this single post to link several resources and posts so it'll be easier to get.

I'm also updating every now and then with new links.

Comprehensive post with ways you can help internationally

This is a link to a post that has several donation links and links to information sources regarding the current state of the disaster.

Dona Yummy

It's a relief fund set up by Yummy, a venezuelan food delivery and taxi app. Them and other allied companies are matching 20-25% of your donation; it accepts international cards, ACH, cryptocurrency and PIX for brazilians.

You can also download the food delivery app since it isn't region locked and order food, medicine and hygiene products from the available supermarkets and farmacies in the app and deliver it to the address of your choice.

Update June 29 2026: Vicente Zavarce, founder of Yummy has posted a tweet stating how the funds are being managed. The tweet is in spanish.

Here is also proof of the funds being used for tents for the refugee camp at Parque del Este.

A webpage created by the venezuelan journalist Ernesto Fuenmayor and vouched by Estefanía León, comedian from a well known venezuelan podcast El Cuartico.

This webpage has several reputable and verified charities for international donations with proof that your donations are reaching the intended communities. This will help to ease your uncertainty of whether your donation is actually helping or not.

Why you shouldn't donate to the venezuelan Red Cross

As it is, the venezuelan red cross has been in the hands of the regime for several years and the donations made to them won't reach us at all.

It was seized by the regime on 2023 and has been under the control of the Rodríguez siblings since.

It is a very corrupt institution, if you want to donate do so at the other charities venezuelans have vouched for.

I am unaware of how other international Red Cross charities are operated, but it's preferable if you donate with the other charities that venezuelans have vouched for.

Update July 01 2026: Here's a brief video by venezuelan lawyer and historian AlexTVzla explaining how the regime took over the venezuelan Red Cross.

Donating to your local donation centers

You can also continue to donate non-perishable food, medicine, medical supplies, baby and kids products, tents, sleeping bags, blankets, clothes and personal hygiene products to your local venezuelan donation sites since those who lost everything will be in refugee camps for the forseeable future that will follow this disaster.

Internet for rescuers and earthquake victims in Venezuela

Conexión Segura Y Libre is an NGO who specializes in anti-censorship tips and free speech in Venezuela. They have shared a gofundme campaign to raise funds to continue to deploy emergency satellite internet points with generators and phone-charging stations in the hardest-hit areas to help survivors, volunteers and rescue teams stay connected.

FundaProcura

FundaProcura is a venezuelan NGO that specializes in reduced mobility assistance. They have deployed an emergency program to provide wheelchairs and mobility equipment to those who have been affected by the double earthquake, whether it is to replace damaged mobility aids or to provide them to those who recieved life-altering injuries. They have made an emergency gofundme for the disaster and they also have in their own website ways to donate.

Other ways you can help

If you're an artist, a group of venezuelan artists are working on making coloring books for the children that survived the earthquake and are staying at the refugee sites. You can contact ch1naweee on twitter throughout the week if you're interested in this project.
