The invitation of being

Some of my poems are made to feel like a little meditation. This was probably my first one of the category. I didn’t have the intention, but it seems that my spiritual wanderings were “leaking” into my writing and since poetry is already so great at capturing these kinds of ideas, I decided to just go with it.

This little poem came to me in a moment when I was trying not to be anxious and all the trying was just making things worse, as it often does. I felt this change in perception. “What if I could just be the space where anxiety is happening?”

It’s a kind of surrender, really. And it can be incredibly liberating. Lately, when dealing with bad emotions, I often come back to this poem. 

I hope it can be of value in your life as well.
