“That’s the plan, anyway.”
Still, happy endings weren’t always a given. One wrong move, one slip up, and everything could come crumbling down upon them. A true tragedy, if something like that came to be. Those were the kinds of stories that people didn’t really want to hear about, where all is lost. Perhaps that’s why they weren’t so often written.
“We’re still fighting for it. Until our story reaches it’s conclusion, we’ll keep fighting, too. So let’s make sure we give everyone that happy ending they deserve.”
SOREY IS well-acquainted with the notion that a happy ending is not much more than a motivational factor ( although he wouldn’t like to vocalize the thought ). Their likelihood of such is slim. & even then, what must they take into consideration, to decide what’s truly ‘ happy ‘? How many people have already died? Were their sacrifices thus far worth it? There’s no sense dwelling on regrets, even after they’ve obtained their goal. Still... it weighs very heavily. Sorey fights to keep those dark thoughts at bay.
“ Of course! We won’t settle for anything less, right? Oh, but -- Mikleo, do you have a recommendation for something a little more... lighthearted? “
he adds with a sheepish hand rubbing at the back of his neck.
