You step aside to let Dia lock the door once the two of you have stepped out onto the street. It's darker than you expected it to be, but  you don't mind it in the slightest. Once the door has been locked, you turn to take a look at your surroundings.

You notice that the city seems quite busy, though you don't know what you expected. People are everywhere; rushing into shops, waiting in long lines outside of clubs, chatting on street corners. It's nice, you decide finally. Despite your usual solitary tendencies, it's nice to be around people from time to time, even if they look quite different from yourself.

At Dia's question, you think for a moment. While you did come expecting saxophone lessons, you realize that in retrospect, you were painfully unprepared. And you do think that exploring the city could be just as entertaining. After examining the many foreign buildings once more, you shrug.

"If it's all the same to you, I think exploring could be fun."

Sometimes the universe does things that make absolutely no sense to those who have no knowledge of its inner workings and mechanisms.

For instance, how on Earth should taking Spanish with Roxy end up being the most entertainment I gain in a week?

The universe is truly full of unanswerable questions.

You realize you're being watched carefully and stop, before it seems as if you are put off by the state of the room. You aren't, really. In fact strangely abandoned places such as these have a tendency to fascinate you, though you realize it is probably in bad taste to inquire as to why the room is abandoned to begin with. As Dia asks about your things, you shrug off her request.

"No need. It isn't very heavy." You hike your messenger bag back up on your shoulder and look around the room once more, assuming that the large black door without any kind of symbol on it is the exit. You motion towards it, silently asking if the two of you should get going.

That hiatus was a lot longer than I thought it would be, but with school starting back up and what not I just haven't had much time to get back on here. But I am here, and if I owe replies I will be getting to them in the next couple of days.

After a very long and tiring week long trip with Roxy, I have finally returned. I would make some verbose and uninteresting post about it, but really what it came down to is:

- I started formulating a plot for a new short story.

- Roxy attempted to make out with almost everyone she met.

- We got frozen yogourt.

I can’t really think of anything else that matters.

Big long hiatus time

All right, here's what's up:

I am going to a huge ass con in Toronto for the next four days. After that, I'll be visiting family followed by working all day and getting my license. Because of this, I most likely won't be on with any degree of regularity until next Friday.

You nod, still feeling somewhat bad for making her go out of her way. But you figure there is not much that can be done about it now, so you focus instead on the room you now find yourself in.

Almost everything is black, and the combination of the dim lighting makes it difficult to make out much detail. But you can see several doors leading off to various other rooms, as well as a table with four chairs placed haphazardly around it. Dust hangs heavy in the air. You can see several large trunks through it, and if Dia is anything like the Droog you know, their contents are better left unknown. You walk up to the nearest one and wipe a finger along the top, drawing a thin line in the dust.

“Yes, actually. Where are we?” You realize after the fact this is most likely something you should have asked ahead of time. Though you highly doubt it’s anywhere terribly dangerous.

You nod knowingly as Dia introduces herself. Calling her “Dame” seems a little odd- you much prefer having an actual name by which to address her. You cringe slightly as she motions towards your lack of an instrument. You had considered buying one, but the price tag attached to a decent instrument was not worth the gamble of whether or not you would actually be proficient at playing. You shrug as you step off of the pad.

“I apologize. If I actually manage to play something that doesn’t cause any cochlear damage, I can purchase my own afterwards. And of course I will replace any reeds I use.”

You try not to ramble and fail. You felt uneasy about accepting lessons in the first place, and now you just feel painfully unprepared.

You have already worked up a little bit of a sweat getting ready for this whole ordeal.  Running around and making sure everything will work out ok. You sent the coordinates to Rose as well as specifying a time to arrive as well as making sure your instrument is in tune and your apartment is still clean.

With everything ship-shape back at your house you walk over to the meeting place for your crew because you know that is also messy and that is where the nearest transportalizer is that you know the coordinates to. You may be a reasonably clean person but that can not be said for the rest of your crew members.

You know you do not have time to fully clean up their stuff, especially with them gone, but you do place everything that belongs to each member behind their respective door and shut the stuff inside. There is no way you are going to open that pandora’s box right now.

You have a guest coming and saxophone lessons to give.

After receiving the coordinates from your new instructor, you gather your things and prepare to leave your home. Roxy isn’t concerned; you are both well accustomed to the other leaving unannounced. You feel oddly light as you leave the house- both from anticipation and the fact that you are bringing very little with you. You do not have a saxophone. You haven’t for six years. And the moment you began contemplating reed sizes and various other components of a hobby you haven’t practiced in so long, you decide on travelling light.

It doesn’t take you long to make your way to the nearest transportalizer. You feel strangely uneasy- it has been quite some time since you’ve travelled this way- but you step onto the pad nonetheless. After a non-existent moment you appear in a dimly lit room that smells faintly of cigarette smoke and dust. It takes your eyes a moment to adjust to the light, but once they do you spot who you are here to see.

“Pleasure to finally meet you…” You trail off, realizing she never actually gave you a name.
