Thingumy and Bob, or Tofslan and Vifslan, are characters based on Tove Jansson and her girlfriend at the time, Vivica. The ruby in the suitcase they’re so protective of being a metaphor for their same-gender love being kept secret in a time where being gay was still illegal in Finland.

It’s worth noting that even though Tofslan and Vifslan were deathly afraid of her, the Groke isn’t a villain. She’s actually a manifestation of Tove’s loneliness and yearns for warmth herself.

hey guys! some updates.

the good news: winter is over, my father is able to get work again, and im over the flu.

the other news: its not bad news but ive very suddenly been accepted as a patient at the dental college and id like some extra money to help me out as i get treatments.

and im FINALLY trying to get into the mental health evaluation as well. i had to wait until after the winter in case i needed the funds for emergency groceries or bills but i made it! and now i can finally start to work on ME!
