Ah… that did make more sense, Eizen thought. He didn’t know how soul talking worked, or what it even meant, but apparently that was what Sorey had done. If he’d been able to communicate with Velvet, then perhaps there was hope for her. He hoped so, anyway.
She and Laphicet likely were the only ones of his old friend group still alive in Edna’s timeline. Not including himself, of course. The thought was surreal, but one he had to accept.
“Cellular devices?” Eizen blinked. It sounded like technology really had advanced. He tilted his head.
“Seems like I’ve missed a lot,” he said. Understatement of the century, that was. “What else do they have? And what to do they need these cellular things for anyway?”
Right, her brother may have been around but it’s not like a dragon could exactly keep up with technology. Then again, what she vented to her brother was not know by the version before her at this moment.
"They are small devices, handheld ones, that allow them to communicate with others that have the same or similar devices.” she started. “They have things called tablets, which are not hand held slabs or rock, but other devices that allow them to do many of the same things that the cellular devices do, especially if they use programs called ‘apps’ then they call often even make calls on those.”
“There are also things called computers and laptops now, of which they are often more powerful versions of the cellular devices, these things allow the human to do what’s called ‘face time’ which is seeing one another through the screen so they can interact that way.” Edna recalled. “Honestly though, its almost scary how humans have engineered things just to make it where they don’t have to talk to someone in person but through a device.”
