i am going to review some terraria toys here we go
Terraria World Collector's Pack (Action Figure 6 Pack)
this is the first result when you amazon searchĀ āterraria toysā and has a five star rating. we can see that the figures from left to right are green slime, eyeball, the Guide, a zombie, the Player clad in silver armor, and Tim.Ā
from my research on the amazon page, it is noted that these are not legos, however you can take them apart and put them back together.
for the price of $7.22, this is not terrible. however on amazon they are an add-on item which means you need to spend a certain amount of money before you can buy it, and i Personally am not a huge fan of this, so i would not feel inclined to buy these figures.Ā
i do appreciate how theyāve captured the likeliness of the guideās hair and nose--however, the guide is Not that white, so i was unsure whether or not this was the guide at all. another negative feature of this set is it does not include any girl players or girl NPCs. overall i give this a 2/5 stars
Terraria Deluxe Boss Pack: Eye of Cthulhu Boss Action Figure with Accessories
first things first, i deeply appreciate the bonus items--i laughed when i realized that was the eye of cthulhu trophy, and that it also included the binoculars, which is a potential drop upon defeat.Ā
at first, i really liked the inclusion of the eye of cthulu mask (another potential drop), but i started to rethink it. while i do think itās cute, it feels a bit confusing, since at first i assumed it was one of the Servants that the eye of cthulhu will rain upon the player. when i remembered those look like normal eyes, i thought it might simply be a smaller version of itās second form, which also didnāt really make sense. i feel like understanding this is meant to be the mask would make more sense if it included a player character that could wear the mask. iām not sure if this mask is even equipable if you owned a player figure already.Ā
if you are a fan of the eye of cthulhu, i think the price of $8.99 for this fun figure is alright. as i reflect on fond memories of farming this eye 45 times in a single night, i give this toy a 3/5 stars
Terraria Deluxe Armor Pack Action Figure
this figure pack includes, as described on amazon, āfour of the most recognizable armors from Terraria.ā however, i am embarrassed to admit that i feel like i can only recognize three out of the four--cactus, meteorite, and specter. however, upon further research i realized this was necro armor, and my lack of knowledge didnāt surprise me anymore, since iāve never made this set.Ā
while i appreciate the use ofĀ ātheyā when refering to these players, there has always been a distinct body contrast between boy/girl players, and it feels clear to me that they are all Boy players. not only this, but every single one of them is the exact same shade of white, which is not creative and boring. also gives the illusion the player character can change their facial expression in any way, when this is not true.
the list price of this set is $19.99, while amazon will sell it for $17.62. i would not feel very willing to spend so much money on four unimaginative figures. while reviewers may love this set, i am unswayed and give it a 1/5 stars.Ā
Terraria - Excalibur Sword Toy
this reminds me a lot of the different swords that minecraft offers for purchase. while i do not find fault with the semblance, i do find fault in the design, but do not blame the toy creators completely. i feel like creating life-size terraria swords is not really a great idea design wise, considering these items are much more pixelated and contain more detail than a typical minecraft sword might have. the design feels crowded and hard to follow with the eye, especially since each individual pixel is given a black outline. again: i understand this is a difficult direct translation to make from game to reality, and even i might not be able to come up with an entirely satisfactory design for this toy. but because of these shortcomings, i personally feel like this style of toy isnāt a great idea in general, and think it would be better to focus efforts on making better figures.Ā
from reviews i have read on the amazon website, this toy is made of hard, sturdy plastic, which gives me worries about potential safety, considering this is a sword and i would have no doubt children might swing it at other children and hurt them. iām not sure if this is me being too sensitive, however.
this item is not offered on amazon prime, and is a whoppingĀ $19.99 with $7.54 shipping--not worth it to me. i am sad to say that i give this sword a 0/5 stars.Ā
Terraria Corruption Biome Pack
anyone who knows me that i am nearly always biased to anything that comes in cool color tones, and this set is no exception. i adore the way they added depth to the mountain backdrop, as well as differing placement of the trees, with the excellent touches added to theĀ ādrippingā leaves. not only this, but the addition of the hole in the ground is very funny to me, considering the huge drops found in corruption biomes.Ā
what really tickled me the most was the wraith figure, with its wide stance on two legs! while its completely understandable to give a toy figure legs when the video game version floats, this particular choice really left me chuckling. if i would have to guess before ever seeing this set, i would assume the figure would have a single stand instead of two legs, but this is really amusing. i find myself very endeared to this little wraith.
however, my endearment doesnāt negate that wraiths can be found anywhere in a hardmode world, which makes it a little confusing to see it specifically grouped with a corruption biome. i would think some eater of souls would be more appropriate--but i will admit, that since these monsters are flying ones, that could be potentially hard to add.Ā
this set goes for the somewhat overwhelming price of $34.80 on amazon prime, which does make me hesitate greatly. however, if you have the money to spend, i think this is a wonderful set to own and give it 4.5/5 stars
