There were few things in her life Marie that had found more comfort in than her morning coffee. This was a habit that hadnāt changed upon becoming a Servant, and coming to Koi had only enabled it more. Modern society was full of things to marvel at, and the advances made in coffee were high on that list.Ā She had given herself something of a self-imposed challenge to try every blend at every cafĆ© in Koi until she found the one that was justĀ right.
Her caffeinated forays up to this point had gone mostly without incident; only one barista had commented on her frequent visits and ever-changing order. This is the first time that anyone has spoken to her after she received her order, and itās hard to hide her initial confusion.Ā
Being audacious is no reason for Marie to turn the man away, and being approached in such a casual manner is nothing but refreshing. Not wanting to be rude, she smiles and motions to the chair opposite hers with the hand not currently holding a cup of coffee.Ā
āThe more the merrier, isnāt it? Coffee is always more enjoyable with conversation.ā
Oh, sheās much too kind. Tougou was certainly surprised by her kind and warm smile, taking his seat.
āIām delighted you think so! Iām Tougou, itās a pleasure to meet you, miss.ā
āReally, itās been such a refreshing time to meet new face in this city, so I figured-- why have some small talk with a stranger? Everyone here seems so polite and kind, Itās really an honor.ā He steeples his fingers, crossing his legs and leaning back into his seat. He could start some small talk, get to know the lady.... really, as long as he could have some time to relax, things would be alright. Maybe it wouldnāt be as tedious as he felt it to be.
