hiiiii tumblr I’ve had these designs brewing for a while so i thought I’d share them now…

this is my modern au inspired by Ancient Rome civil wars and the 2nd triumvirate! it follows the two triumvirs (and maybe a little bit of Lepidus) in the aftermath of caesars death, discovering the culprits of the murder are also police inspectors just likethem, and takes a dark turn with a modern alternative of phillipi and the following proscriptions.

it mainly focuses of the relationship between Octavian (mainly called auggie in the au) and antony and how they bond over shared experiences and how they QUARREL over shared experiences. they go from enemies to good friends and then it’s just downhill from there. i try to depict all the characters in a nuanced, balanced way with highs and lows and a modern au allows me to discuss more ‘contemporary’ issues with the characters.

i have more designs in mind but I don’t draw a a lot given college and im a bit too shy to share my writing yet but they really mean a lot to me and I hope you like them as much as I do:)))

similar to Cassius he’s not exactly the most fleshed out right now but I do have a couple ideas!!! he’s a police detective and basically leads a plot to kill their police boss or whatever on the realisation that Caesar is becoming more and more corrupt in his underhand dealings and such. I think out of him and Cassius he was maybe the more reluctant one when it comes to Caesar’s assassination and although both of them are very guilt ridden about the murder in general, Brutus feels a LOTTT more guilt for the death

in the modern version of Phillipi it’s Cassius v antony and brutus v auggie and things do not go well for auggie he gets the SHIT beaten out of him. gets him pinned against a wall hands tightening around his neck whilst having a breakdown about how guilty he feels and for a minute auggie might feel a little sympathetic for him? and then antony saves the day shoots him in the foot and lets auggie basically beat him until he’s really fucked up. It’s meant to be visceral and dark and a really striking moment but idk.

I read that if you experience a traumatic event you can sometimes develop a stutter so for the main section of the narrative he has a stutter that he doesn’t really explain to anyone because how could he explain that :(

he was one of the first characters apart from aug and antony I drew! I might redo it at some point but for now this is how he’s drawn! I hope u like…
