So....

Fun thing happened folks..

In this very long hiatus where I’ve been focusing on my acting career the new apartment I moved into here in Brooklyn was broken into and my laptop was stolen.

I lost over 2 years worth of artwork on that shit.

Let this be a lesson to you all to back up your shit every month

Your artwork is absolutely breathtaking! How long have you been drawing for? And any tips on improving?

Thank you so much! I've actually been drawing since I could pick up a pencil in my toddler years. My dad was an architect and my mom is an interior designer, so drawing was a big thing in my family. And if you want to improve the best thing to do it draw everyday. More specifically draw something from life or reference everyday. It doesn't have to be really detailed or pretty, but it will definitely help you improve! :)

I convinced myself it was time to stop being a lazy shit and work on art with an actual background, aaaaannd what fits better than Ladynoir goodness on the rooftops of Paris.

Hopefully seeing as, yet again, tomorrow I have no plans, maybe I can finish it soon :)) If I don’t finish it disown me.

Miraculously, the background and anatomy is working out better than I had anticipated. This is going to be slow painful process, but goddamit it shall be done!

I was just messing around doing some reference drawing, so I drew up one of my sim girls. She is the 7th?? illegitimate child out of 13 for one of my other sim dudes. My friend and I had a bet on which of us could have the most sim babies first.

She beat my ass, with well over 20 kids…

Just made it to episode 8 of book 3, so I thought I’d upload the doodles and art I’ve been doing while I watch the show.

And I just have to say, Jet may have been a grade A asshole when we first met him, but he still never deserved that end. It makes me emotional every time. ;____;

30-Day Character Design Challenge: Day Two

Design a character in a genre you don’t normally draw (example: if you normally high fantasy characters, you could do sci-fi, steampunk, etc.)

Like, you don’t understand, I usually hate sci fi/ futuristic armor, so the fact that this doesn’t look like shit is a miracle. But I did also search like a mad woman through references and shit. Also used Photoshop for the first time in forever. so yeah, here we are.

Fucking lord give me strength. I'm trying to catch up on that 30 day character challenge thing, and I'm doing a sci fi design since I NEVER do that. Give me modern day, give me medieval fantasy, but sci fi is killing my soul. If this design ends up being shitty I'm going to be so mad at myself.

30-Day Character Design Challenge: Day One

Put your iTunes library, favorite Spotify playlist, etc. on shuffle and design a character inspired by the first song that comes up. Bonus: do this with a playlist of music you’ve never listened to before. Extra bonus: use an instrumental-only song.

Yeeeaahh!! I’m doing this thing!

So for day 1 of this design challenge I picked a random instrumental playlist on 8tracks and got the song Everything Must Change-Olafur Arnalds. It’s a really cool song, and gave me a very Robert Downey Jr, Sherlock Holmes era vibe.

I wanted to design a character that fit into the image of sneaking through the allies, jumping across roof tops, and preforming assassins and thefts in late 1800s. Eventually, I finally decided on Aurel’s design (although his outfit is not my best design I have to admit), and even developed a backstory/plot for him. Which I shall write in detail below. vvv

Sorry for now I’m going to keep his story in an outline for now, because it’s nearly 3am and I’m exhausted...

His parents were poor immigrants in late 1800s London.

His family finally got their own shop when Aurel during 9, after his father had been working himself to death for it for like 16 years.

the shop lasted 2 years before big time bankers wanted to close down the entire street that Aurel and his family lived on, to make way for money profiting shops for the wealthy.

Aurel’s father refused to give up his hard earned shop and to be bullied around by the rich dicks, especially since they barely paid the people who originally lived on that street (90% immigrants) enough to find a new place to live.

Since Pop pop won’t back down, bankers hired thugs to get rid of Aurel’s parents, since it was the most cost efficient method.

3 days Aurel came home after finishing his job selling newspapers to find his parents gone. They turned up the next morning in a gutter in the streets, dead and with obvious signs of cruel torture before they passed.

Aurel was taken in by his only living relative in England, his great uncle on his mother’s side.

His uncle was some kind of old war hero back in his family’s original country, (this part I haven't worked out yet) and uncle trains that kind to avenge his parents and protect the poor who body count had been rising higher and higher as the road to “progress” required the need to cut down “undesirables”and “pests”.

By age 22 Aurel’s training is complete, and under a different name he gets a low ranking job at one of the biggest banks in London.

There he learns or business dealings, sells company ruining information, does occasional assassinations, and steals a lot of crap.

When he is out being a vigilante of sorts, he wears the outfit above, which ties closely to his families cultural garb (what that culture is I don’t know, fantasy country some where in the Middle East most likely??)

So I only ended up doing Mako, since I drew Korra with the same face from an earlier post. I also succeeded in making this drawing waaaaayy more sad than in needed to be.
