Once upon a December. Anastasia in Russian. This would be the language that she would have sang in. Everything just seems more genuine and real.
Blessed are those who see beautiful things in humble places where other people see nothing.

Irish Whiskey | Torin and Tessa
His head cocked to the side for a moment. The woman looked very much like Ry, but Torin knew she was safe in California. He shook his head, grinning a little at the question, “About two or three hours or so outside of Dublin…middle of no where.” He took a seat, watching her, “It’s rather nice to hear the accent outside of my siblings and I.”
She paused as she washed her hands, feeling the man's gaze on her as she did so. "Ahh. I haven't been there in a while. But the wee villages are nice to travel through." Travel through yes, live in them? Far too quiet for the fox. "I could say the same fer you. What brings you over here then?"
If Kaz wasn’t completely overwhelmed by the fact that she had Harper back in her arms, she would have firmly informed the woman to slow down and give them some time to breathe. It just so happened that she was completely overwhelmed, and so she was delighted to nearly slam the door on the woman’s retreating back, locking it behind her.
One of Harper’s little hands was tangled in the back of Kaz’s hair and the infant babbled delightedly, unaware of the changes going on. Kaz’s abrupt laugh made the girl jump but she soon settled back into her nonsense words, tugging and pulling at blonde locks. “I figured I should keep it,” she said finally, her smile almost self-conscious. “No sense wasting the money spent, right?”
Tessa exhaled in a rush and blew her hair out of her face before hugging the pillow to herself. "Ye don't need to make a face like I'm going to laugh at ye for saving it, Kaz. It was a smart thing to do. Very you. I'm glad that ye did."
She was still reeling from what had just happened, her own mind back to struggling to catch up. Looking up towards the other woman, she smiled. "Harper looks like she's already made herself at home."
"I might’ve, but your charm coupled with the fact that you’re holding a babe…it was just too much to resist," she said, teasing lightly. She was, actually, quite alarmed that she wanted to kiss the woman a second time. And not on the cheek this time. Kaz shifted uncomfortably on the couch, sliding her hands under her thighs.
"Ahh so it was the babby that did it. Should've known." She grinned at Kazara for a moment while Harper babbled quietly. Noticing the way she shifted, one eyebrow rose up. "Ye all right there, lass?"
No, she wasn’t sure about that. She wasn’t going to lie and say she was, but she also wasn’t going to say no. Kaz laughed quietly when Tessa mentioned her charm, tearing her gaze from the screen to look at the Irish fox again. “How could I possibly? You’re just so charming.”
The fact that nothing was said one way or the other hadn't escaped Tessa. But she wasn't about to pry. Instead she laughed quietly, hers joining Kazara's for a moment. "It was only a matter o' time before I wore ye down. Honestly I thought ye'd last a bit longer."

A dry laugh sounded when the bartender judged the severity of the wound, and Arden mentally cycled through various animals she could name as her attacker. The request to come to the back surprised her, and she paused, her mouth opening to give an excuse as to why she couldn’t. If anyone actually saw the wound, they’d be able to figure out that not only was it definitely not from a typical animal, but that she didn’t seem to healing like a human either.
Hooking a thumb over her shoulder at the door, she slid off her seat as she spoke. ”Oh, I can just go and clean it myself—” Her words were cut off as she stumbled, her head going fuzzy as soon as she tried to straighten up. It registered at the back of her mind that alcohol and blood loss probably weren’t the best partners. Grabbing at the bar, she blinked, trying to put her vision back into focus. “I… I’m—”
Tessa hadn't been buying her act before the blonde tried to excuse herself to the ladies and she certainly wasn't any more inclined to believe it after the way she could barely hold herself upright.
"Oh like hell ye are," she grunted as she quickly slid an arm around her waist and all but drugging her to the back office just before the storage room. With little jostling, Tess managed to sit the woman down just before searching for her first aide kit. "Whatever it that yer trying t'hide, I'll not pry but I'll be damned if yer gonna bleed out in me bar--Blood is bad enough. I don't need any fecking Bodachs swarming the place again."
Irish Whiskey | Torin and Tessa
Torin was taking a small break while Jeremy was off doing some shopping through antique stores for lost things, what Torin had taken to calling the metal and gears that Jeremy turned into art. Wanting to get himself a drink, he headed in, rather happy to see it fairly quiet. He chuckled rather happily at the accent that greeted him. ”Irish?” Torin asked, his own Irish accent showing. ”Take your time, I don’t mind waiting.”
Tessa finally turned around at the voice, quick to grin at the man on the other side of the bar top, broom in hand as she did so. "Aye, I would be. Belfast. What about ye, love?" As she spoke, she made quick work of her mess.

She had heard the bell chime above the door but didn't bother to look back. Cleaning up the small stack of glasses that now lined the floor behind the bar took precedence. "If ye just give me a moment I'll get ye yer drinks," Tessa called out. "However if ye try to serve yerself ye'll wish that ye hadn't."
A Wolf's Trouble
"For the moment. I’ve only just arrived - would be rude of me to get kicked out and rob you of my charm." He teased gently, his gaze lifting to hers in a flat expression with the slightest hint of a smile playing at his lips. "Do I look like a man who enjoys large or fancy?" Hell - half the time the wolf lived off of left over chinese food and day-old coffee. "I’ll take a burger - everything on it, and more of y’er smile," he added on with a laughing smile. Her laughter really was helping after his day.
"Especially when the place is so lacking in just that right now," she agreed easily. One shoulder rose and fell in a shrug, unbothered by his words. "Not upon first look, no. Ye seem like a very...intense but easy going lad. Not quite sure how that is." Tessa shook her head at the compliment tacked onto his order. A charmer indeed. "I'll be right back..." Within moments she'd run the order to the kitchen before returning to her spot behind the bar. "So...Do ye find yerself in better spirits now, boyo? Things weighting on ye a bit lighter?"

"I’ll keep that in mind." She tipped her glass forward in thanks before taking another sip, brows rising when the bartender leaned in. Chuckling at the mention of a fight, she glanced down at her stomach; pulling her hand away, she frowned at the mess of blood and skin and fabric. "I guess you could say that. I got into a bit of a scrape with a… n animal, yeah." she drew out, correcting herself mid-sentence as she remembered who she was talking to.
"Ye do that, love. I'll be around all night." Keeping an eye on ye, she added silently. The statement was re-enforced when she just barely glanced at the mess her hand was when it left her stomach. An eyebrow rose up just as an almost skeptical expression slid onto her features. "An animal? Looks like they might have gotten the better of ye. Look.." Tessa had noticed the mid-sentence shift but didn't bother pointing it out. Heavens knew that she had to do the same. "Yer not in a good way and if too many customers catch sight of ye while yer here it could be bad fer business. Come on back and I'll clean ye up."
Kaz didn’t hesitate. Once Tess gave her the go-ahead she had the little girl in her arms in an instant, gently shushing her, bouncing slightly, remembering how the babe had liked that before and wondering if she still did now. “Of course we’ll take her. Of course we will,” she told the woman, alarmed at the way her heart was racing, wanting the woman gone so she and Tess could talk.
"They can, they did. And if you’ll sign the papers…" The woman continued talking, pulling out the papers and showing them where to sign, but Kaz wasn’t listening anymore. It was all legal babble anyway and it boiled down to signing the papers to get the woman to leave.
The Irish woman simply watched until everything caught up with her, silently taking the diaper bag from the woman. Annoyance prickled at her somewhat in the way the woman was rushing. Surely she would give them a bit more to go on?
When Tessa realised that wasn't going to happen she simply contented herself with making a face at Harper before turning back into Kazara's flat to set down the bag and go look for the baby things they'd packed away. Maybe she had still had some.
By the time Kaz, and now Harper, got to her Tessa was surrounded by a myriad of baby things, extra sheets, and a pillow falling on top of her head.
