i must say i am quite enjoying the dynamic between a cyborg guy and a guy who could rip him apart with a thought. thats neat i like the high level of trust theyd have to have to make it work. also megneto is a killer ship name

Tho I will ☝️take this opportunity to blab abt whatever my current brainworms are which the remark abt trust gives me several. Esp because YES you're right it takes a high level of trust but in a way I think subverts the expectations which is what makes it fun to think about.

Cause although Meg is def at the disadvantage here, at least the way I like to write him, he doesn't really see it that way. Like logically he'd realize this but he'd take it as he's winning not that he's perpetually on the backfoot. The threat of being torn apart by this guy ur trying to woo is literally the fun part. Like eating a spicy pepper, the pepper being spicy is the point of eating the pepper.

Erik meanwhile I think is where the heavy trust is because he'd have to trust that Meg will communicate that he's handling it fine. Like he's all for spinning the guy around in the air for his enrichment but he'd want to stop if a part of Meg's heart was getting misaligned in the process, and only Meg can feel if that's happening. Generally a nice thing not to have ur boo go into cardiac arrest because you were flinging him around with magnetic currents.

Also the cyborg x magnet guy dynamic means I get to use ocean imagery All The Time in my writing. Which obvs slots PERFECTLY with Meg's shark/ship capitan situation. Meg can feel the subtle draw of magnetism from Erik, like the moon pulling the tide, the varying intensity from Erik's emotional state like waves drifting along the surface of the ocean. Erik's got a weird fascination with space on occasion (Meteor M, colonizing Mars, etc) so him being likened to the moon pans out thematically in his favor as well.

Also I agree I love megneto as a ship name it's so fun to say. Can you believe I almost called them magnedon. Cursed timeline.

I made these brushes for CSP a while back, and I've used them a LOT, but I've decided to share the files on my ko-fi. :-)

A while back, I worked at a comic book store five days a week, so I had access to a lot of old Marvel and DC comics. I made these brushes from scanning the comics directly. My brush set has all 64 colors which were possible to print on newspaper at the time.

The names of the brushes are the same names that a colorist would use if they worked for Marvel or DC back in the day. For example, R is 100% red, Y2 is 25% yellow, Y3 B is 50% yellow and 100% blue.

For a long time I told myself I wouldn't share them because I thought I could find more work as a colorist if I had my own tools. Well, I still haven't found much work as a colorist, and I thought it would be nicer to share with other artists.

It's $20 or pay what you want for a zip folder with 64 brushes. Yippee!

I actually recommend everyone write for a rarepair once because it completely changes your relationship with fandom. Engagement stops being numbers and starts being names. You know who's going to show up. You recognize usernames. Someone disappears for a while and then comes back and you're like “OH MY GOD WELCOME HOME.” It's incredibly wholesome. It is also deeply inconvenient when all six of you simultaneously get writer's block-
