we need more men in STEM (Skirts, Tight pants, Eyeliner, Mesh tops)
I know this is gonna piss off nerds but paperbacks are superior to hardbacks
They hurt less when you drop them on your face
I refuse to accept Ben x Devi probably being endgame. The white man cannot win this one.
If you try fucking w/ gender and it just confirms that you are in fact cis, that still gives you like an upgrade because now you’re approaching your sense of self with Intent™.
self-knowlege is never wasted.

Fluorite on Baryte.
People complaining about ~historical accuracy~ in Bridgerton because of the black chatacters when there is an Ariana Grande song playing at a ball in the first 20 minutes of the show are so fucking transparent like just say you’re a racist and move on

Living with white people who grew up in ‘meat and 3 veg’ households is fantastic for my ego. I season the chicken and they’re like “OMG this is SO GOOD you’re an actual chef”
HOW COME NOBODY TOLD ME THAT BOOBOO FUCKING STEWART PLAYED SETH IN THE TWILIGHT SAGA????
Cue the nervous laughter from all the 20-something-year-olds who initially watched jatp because of Booboo Stewart whomst they have been crushing on since Twilight
Kilo and the Age of Wonderbeasts is like a masterclass in effective storytelling. The fact that they delivered a show that demonstrated the distinct difference between a redeemable character and a non-redeemable character, and the fact that they did it in only three seasons is incredible. Jamack was never a bad guy, he was just misguided and made the decision to change for the better. Scarlamange was a victim of his past trauma, and that trauma shaped his interactions with people for the rest of his life but he was still redeemable. Yes, he did some very bad things, but he did it with the belief that the only way for anyone to care about him was by forcing them to and people with power could force others to do anything. The moment he realized that he could be cared for without forcing anyone, he began to change and make amends for his actions. Scarlamange, or should I say Hugo, was a redeemed character before he died. When he first apologized to the mutes, they said that it wasn’t that they thought he was still evil why the didn’t forgive him, it was that they weren’t ready yet. The fact that this was even stated, in a kids cartoon no less, is such a huge deal and it made them actually forgiving Hugo even sweeter. Now we get to Emilia. She is the perfect depiction of an unredeemable character. It’s so easy to write off her actions as being the product of an abusive parent, but through the flashback we see clearly that these beliefs concerning mutes were entirely her own. The narrative taught to her by her father was something she believed without exception. When she was faced with the fact that her belief system was wrong, that the narrative she had been raised with was false, she refused to change. She would have fathered die then be wrong, or in this case, have OTHER people die than be wrong. Hugo’s greatest sin was wanting to be loved, Emilia’s was her discriminatory belief system that threatened anyone that was different than her. That’s the difference between a redeemable and irredeemable character.
Thank you Kipo for this amazing lesson in storytelling!!!
white historians will learn about the ancient greeks practicing human sacrifice and agamemnon sacrificing his own daughter iphigenia to please the gods in the iliad and go 'oh how tragic!' but still think the culture and people have value, and then hear about the aztecs engaging in the exact same thing and go 'those are savage cruel subhumans whose culture us foreign and mysterious and scary' and erase mesoamerican societies from human history/ entirely ignore them as though they have no value, like at least keep your supposed ethical stances consistent
Ok so I’m really here for season 2 being about how it’s not the boys that are stronger ghosts than Caleb but that it’s actually Julie who’s more powerful. She was able to bring them back from Caleb’s club to the Orpheum stage, they couldn’t have done that on their own. If they were the powerful ones they’d be able to perform anywhere and be seen but they can only be seen with Julie. Or it’s the 4 of them as a unit, their bond, friendship, and love that makes them more powerful than Caleb but I just personally really like the idea of Julie being the one that’s more powerful. That she’s the one that’s a threat to Caleb not the boys and I’m just so excited to explore that.
Maybe she’s a witch
When you’re upset but also kinda over it
Is there a word for the re-evaluation of life that arises when your sibling tells you about a revelation they had about how your parents raised them and how it explains some things about how they are now and you also do that exact same thing but hadn’t made the connection yet and oh no
In the instagram live with Owen, Kenny Ortega said he thinks a Wille and Alex duet is a great idea so there’d better be a season two
