Skyrim dialogue is written so badly. The dragonborn is written to know absolutely fucking nothing, and to ask questions anyone should have known already, and no one acknowledges it, AND it's mandatory. Why the hell does the dragonborn have to ask seventeen questions in the middle of dialogue?
In oblivion, the dark brotherhood questline had this unique thing, where you as the player character had the option to stay silent for most dialogue in the game. In skyrim they brought the option to remain silent back...BUT THEY STILL FORCE YOU TO ASK QUESTIONS AFTER! WHY???
Skyrim is filled with solid snake responses, there is SO much dialogue that is just:
"I need you to get this thing"
THE ONLY OPTION: "Where is thing?"
Why even give me the ONLY option to select? Just write the dialogue so I don't have to ask.
"I need you to get this thing, it's over there."
It's genuinely insane to me, I don't get it, why do this? So you give the player the illusion of choice? THERE IS NO CHOICE YOU GAVE ME ONE OPTION!!!
