where: chicagoโs north side when: the wee hours of the morning with @thanatcsesโ
They had been wandering for hours now. It was easier than spending long nights in the dormitory, clearly designed for humans rather than androids. Instead of filling the androidsโ rooms with things to occupy themselves with when they were spending their long night hours awake, they were arranged the same way as the human dorms: militaristicโspartan, evenโand meant for nothing more than sleeping. It was absolutely, mind-numbingly dull when Rosaline spent most of her time getting into intense firefights in the grid and outside of it.ย
โWe could go back,โ she said, tilting her head to the side thoughtfully as she looked around. For a human, the November chill would have been uncomfortable, but Rosaline stood on the sidewalk comfortably in a t-shirt and jeans, drawing stares from passersby who could tell by her truly neutral expression that she was an android. She didnโt pay attention to them or their discomfortโit didnโt matter to her.ย โBut Iโm inclined to ditch the morning briefing.โ

ย ย ย heโd taken time to fill his own sleeping quarters with those very things to occupy his time ---small hobbies that bishop had developed keen interests in, small parts of himself that he kept to himself, shared with no one other than any of the scientists or medical team that might decide to prick into his brain and discover the quirks there. a manual camera rest on his desk, something old that heโd acquired some time ago through bartering and shops out in the real world (he could be quite convincing when he wanted to, really). and beside that a violin he barely had time to work with ... if he wanted to respect the hoursย where it was appropriate. and his walls were decorated with hand-drawn maps of the stars above, constellations and their relative spacing versus one another in the sky, the patterns that humans decided to name and share for identification purposes wellย before heโd ever existed. either way, the android had his hobbies, and if he wasnโt out in the chilly chicago air he would be messing with at least one of them. but a break away from all things aegis, even for a moment, was still somewhat welcome.
ย ย ย fingers carded through wavy brown strands, slicking them back against his head and out of his eyes ---a habit heโd learned many years before, something that made him look more human. though he was akin to rosaline in regard to dress code, something too loose and light for the weather. if he cared any more heโd chatter his teeth to give the affect of being cold, but the people surrounding them, passing by, didnโt matter in any capacity. hazel eyes dropped to the smaller agent and bishop nodded his head,ย โ might be a good idea. as pointless as morning briefing is, iโd rather not have a team comb the streets looking for lost property. the subsequent scans thatโd follow, ensuring thereโs nothing wrong, weโre not on the run. โ property. no matter what measure of free-will they had they were always the property of aegis, always belongingย to someone or something. like an idea, a concept. it pressed a more bitter expression to bishopโs features.ย โ i donโt quite feel like emulating embarrassment today. โ
