Tahlia had only just managed to step away from people who were asking her for money which she did have but it didn’t mean that Tahlia wanted to do it all the time. And the night had only gotten worse when Niklaus had come up to her. “And here I thought I hid my love of you so very well.”

Niklaus chuckled lightly, bringing his drink to his lips. “Alas my darling, it is not something you can hide so easily from me.” Biting lightly at his bottom lip the man sighed. “I do hope you are having a pleasant evening, Miss. Tahlia.”

Lise halted for a moment before passing Nadia a hesitant nod. She still hadn’t fully convinced herself that taking the other woman home was a good idea, but she was about to do it anyway. Lise took her hand again and pulled her in the right direction, letting Nadia through the front door as they arrived at the block of flats. “I usually take the stairs…but I think I’ve put you through enough exercise for one day.” she chuckled, stepping into the lift. “I can’t believe we’re doing this…do you reckon he’s seen that you’re gone yet?”

“You know I don’t do physically activity a lot, or really at all.” Nadia wasn’t the fittest person on the planet, she certainly wasn’t going to dispute that. But, the mix of the dancing she’d already done at the club, the few drinks she’d had then the running, she was thoroughly wiped. “He hasn’t called me yet...” She said pulling her phone from the pocket on her skirt. “...nope nothing. So he probably think we are in the bathroom or something.”

Lise stopped in her tracks as Nadia asked the question. They were far enough away now that he wouldn’t find them. If he did, Lise knew she was a fast runner and was sure she’d be able to pull Nadia along too if she didn’t match up to her speed. “You’re sweet…” Lise breathed out. “Yeah… I’m ready to take you to mine.” The redhead placed her hand on the other woman’s shoulder and allowed her lips to guide themselves to the other woman’s mouth. She’d not kissed her before, not when she hadn’t been extremely drunk anyway, she’d only imagined it. It was even more than she imagined. When she took her lips away again, she mumbled something else.. “Just don’t judge me, yeah?” Not many people would worry about other people seeing they had a ridiculously tidy flat, but Lise did.

A flush ran over Nadia’s cheeks. Not just from the quick pace they kept, the woman was terribly out of shape and she knew it. But no, her cheeks stayed a rosy hue from being near Lise. From hearing the sweet tone that spilled from her lips. Then they were pressed softly against hers. It wasn’t what she was expecting. Lise kept an air about her that always, at least in Nadia’s eyes, didn’t immediately scream soft. But everything in that moment felt just that. Warmth spread from her lips down to her toes and Nadia almost whined in protest when the other pulled away. “I could never judge you.” She sighed once she’d regained her breath.

     ‘No,’ he agreed, watching her stand from the sofa. He, however, remained seated, slightly breathless from the kiss. The warmth of her lips still lingered on his own, and travelled down his throat, onto his chest, flushing there deliciously. ‘…But we will.’

     He stood then, and here he had some height advantage on her, but he was never imposing or looming–he was too soft for that, too old. It was in his voice, the certainty in and of himself that bore a commanding presence, one that completely contracted the somewhat frail man who produced it.

     He stood ahead of her, but he did not grab her this time, did not so much as touch her, he only spoke, softly, gently. ‘…Stay with me tonight.’

Her bottom lip trembled as she fought back emotions she didn’t know she held. There were times when this was all too much for her. There were too many secrets and lies that got passed around them. And yet, she never did anything to stop them. 

Wide slightly afraid eyes flicked up to Alan’s when he spoke. She knew what she should have answered. She should have said no. Scarlett should have run from this situation. The woman had far too many ample chances. And yet, here she stood. Taking in a deep breath she sighed. 

“Alright...” She murmured, hands moving to rest against his chest.

     ‘Because you’re tired of it,’ he told her, unable to stop himself from kissing her then, the corner of her mouth, the apple of her cheek, upon her temple, down the length of her jawline, anywhere he could. He spoke between each kiss. ‘You’re tired of this, of all of this. And so am I, so am I.’

     This time his lips met her own, fiercely, passionately, his arms wrapping around her petite frame. Oh, this was wrong, he knew it as well as Scarlett, but he didn’t care. He knew it was terribly selfish of him, but part of him (a slim part, admittedly) only acted on these whims because he knew how unhappy she was. His own marriage had been a farce, one that lasted nearly as long as Scarlett was old (what a thought that was!) and he wanted to save her from that misery.

     Though perhaps taking her for himself would only add to it.

This was what she stayed for. The way his lips felt on her skin, the way his hands seemed to find every curve of her body. She would dream about his touch. Even on nights she lay with her own husband, she thought of Alan. 

Scarlett was tired of evading the truth. That she wasn’t in a happy marriage. That she was stuck in a virtual loop of the same monotony every day. Alan changed that. Her first time meeting Alan had brought her world back to technicolor. Her arms wound around his shoulders, keeping them locked in a tight embrace. She needed just that little bit more, to get her through another night without him. 

Pulling back, fully this time, Scarlett removed herself from the couch. From the situation she’d all too willingly put herself in. “Alan...we can’t keep this up..” She sighed. Her fingers moving brush along her bruised lips.

     He released her hand, instead taking her head against his palms, letting his eyes fall shut, pleading without words that she wouldn’t turn around and walk away from this like they both knew she should. She was his colleague–she was married, for fuck’s sake. But Alan supposed like always he was selfish. Selfish, and lonely.

     ‘Won’t you allow yourself even a moment of happiness?’ he asked, his voice raised no greater than a whisper. ‘You don’t need to say it–I can see so plainly how miserable you are, as miserable as I am, Lette. The only thing standing in our way is our own bloody reflection.’

“A moment of happiness...” she murmured. “...a moment of peace and happiness but at what cost Alan?” Biting at her lip, she knew he was right. It pained her to know she was doing this to her husband, but it didn’t hurt as much as she thought it would. “We are hurting more than just ourselves doing this. B-but why can’t I stop? Why do I not want to stop?”

Sophia was bouncing on the balls of her feet as she stood in the window of their hotel room. The plan ride over was far longer than she had anticipated, but it was rather enjoyable. Tucking a few strands of hair behind her ear, the eager blonde spun on her heel to look for Alan. “Can you believe we are here? Alan this view is amazing.” From where their room was, they had an almost perfect view of all the pyramids. A hand resting over her chest, Sophia took in a deep breath. “I can’t believe we are here...”

     ‘Just stay,’ he whispered against her fingers, her hand clutched in both of his own. The words hesitated on his tongue, like a raindrop hanging from the edge of a trembling leaf. ‘…Please.’

Scarlett let her gaze meet his. This was too much for her, she wasn’t used to anything like this. “I can’t...” Resting her forehead to his, the woman sighed. “...it’s getting late, Alan.”

“Does brandy mean good things or bad in this case?” She asked curiously, “It’s a pleasure to meet you too Derrick.” She chuckled, “Yeah lemon drops are kinda college drink for most but i prefer them to too much beer or cider. They make me feel too bad to be honest.” She took his hand for a moment to shake and then nodded, “So not to be cliche but do you come here often?” She chuckled at herself thinking how lame she must have sounded. 

“It’s a good thing. My first night off in a very long time.” Scratching at the back of his head, Derrick chuckled. “Just sort of getting my feet wet, in a sense.” Taking another sip of his drink, Derrick lifted a brow. “I actually don’t, maybe once a blue moon.” He said with a shrug. “I’m usually far to busy to actually get out on the town.

Zayna looked over to him and smiled back, “Well what’s tonight? Brandy or Whiskey?” She thought for a moment at his question, “Oh I’m just drinking a lemon drop. I haven’t had too bad a day. You’d know it was a bad one because I switch to margaritas.” She chuckled, “I’m Zayna.” 

“Tonight, some good brandy.” He said nodding toward his glass. Lifting a brow at when she named her drink, Derrick smiled a bit. “A lemon drop. God, I haven’t had one of those since my college days.” Not that college was too far off for him. Well, perhaps it was. God, he was getting old. Holding his hand out to her, the man smiled. “The names Derrick. It’s a pleasure to meet you Zayna.”

Zayna had just dropped her little Lean Bean off with her mother and was glad to get out and enjoy the night. She had never anticipated to go out to the bar but a few of her friends had convinced her and then promptly disappeared out to the dancefloor. She had been sitting by the bar until a handsome young man sat down next to her. He downed his drink quickly and she chuckled softly at him before he turned to her, “Uh a little of both.” She smiled at him, “What about you? What’s your poison?” She indicated to the empty glass.

Letting his gaze linger on the glass a moment, Derrick then lifted his eyes to the woman beside him. A smile spreading across his lips. “Brandy. Or whiskey...depending on the event.” A full glass was placed back in front of him, lifting it to his lips he chuckled. “And what about you?”
