Slendytubbies: T-Mixed
T-Mix is a personal project of mine. A what-if scenario for all fiction where you ask: What if things worked our differently? Mainly featuring the idea 'What if Concept Art was the final product?' or 'What if (Similarly related thing) replaced this thing?' Etc. Here's Slendytubbies as an example.
Here's Tinky Winky. Instead of some Infection going through the Custard from Noo Noo, there is a type of mutated Fungi moving through the world, spreading in any way it can. And it has figured out that the Custard is very much able to spread itself. Unfortunately, the Tubbies ate it, and pretty much are becoming Fungus zombies. The Fungus grows beneath the skin, absorbing Muscle Tissue and fat to create more complex and defense-able structures against enemies. But it doesn't necessarily care for the host it finds itself in. In fact, it doesn't actively WANT the body! It just started growing inside of them and started messing with the host's brain. Tinky Winky here has some of the least amount of damage done to him, considering he was lasting the longer than most before going insane. Now, 'insane' is the word I used here because the Fungus isn't really controlling them. It's more influencing them to be violent, to unintentionally spread it's spores on the living or dead (Via the Spores growing in the fur of any Teletubbie). They are slowly losing the cognitive thinking, regressing to animalistic impulses, before becoming so rotten they can't move well. Not much to say about him. He chases anyone he finds alive, screaming bloody murder as he tries to mash their face into a fine, red paste. The Spore mushrooms grow on the dead bodies just as well, if not better than the living bodies.
Here's a normal Teletubbie design by the way. I probably could have done more design choices, but giving big ears, antennas, faces and a bulkier TV screen work. Teletubbies in T-Mix usually come in Pastel colors.
Here's LaaLaa. After getting brutalized by that Purple Guy, she was left barely alive on the beach (Not on purpose, Tink's eyes were just kind of melting). The Fungus grew, growing over the exposed flesh and covering the bone. Then forcing movement, and then waking her up properly. She wandered, blindly, out of the Valley, and into a large Marsh (Replacement for the Outskirts) , where you'd encounter her in the games. She's still quite tall. You defeat her by tricking her into the water after the Guardian, where a large, Fungus infested fish grabs onto her and forcefully drags her to the depths. Poor gal.
Here's Dipsy! A Headless, lifeless corpse piloted by the Fungus. The first instance of something like this happening, the Fungus began to realize the jolts of the dead carcass could move it. And since that's beneficial, they started tapping into it more and more. Eventually, it created an entire network of Mushrooms and Fungus inside the hollowed body, moving around like an Arachnid or Scorpion. Found inside the Underground Bunker (Replacement of the Satellite Station), after brutally crushing, choking, and maiming every other creature in there. He was finally fully put to rest when The Guardian grabbed a pipe and bashed it into a water treatment pipe, where he got carried off into said treatment device, getting torn and burned to oblivion.
Lastly, here's Po. Po got maimed in the first part of the story, yadda yadda. Nothing much differently played out. Except she didn't get hung, she just had her back ripped open and parts of her spine broken. Found lying against the tree in part 1. Anywho, this is her 'Phase 1' look in Slendytubbies 3. She has little to no real defense, and is filled almost exclusively with toothpick-thick mushrooms that allow stabilization. With that large growth from her back as a nice weapon. I'd like to say there will probably be more designs for characters in the future. Stuff like Po's 3rd form, Probably the Guardian, and so on. But I just wanted to get back into the swing of things first. Expect more T-Mixes on new characters, and remasters on old designs.
