One thing I think about a lot: if Yor didn't have her exact combination of anxieties and superhuman strength, Twilight would be honeytrapping the shit out of her right now. Just full on sharing a bed, sleeping together, bringing her flowers, the whole package. Like, he really is not a good person lol

i lied put your clothes back on let me explain to you why ambessa is heavily praised and thirsted over but mel isnt and degraded cause white people esp white queers view black women in a lens of masculinity esp in "queer media" and hate when they are shown to be anything other than masculine and mean because that contradicts the mindset and stereotypical way they view actual black women in real life we cannot be classy and smart or anything that contradicts the stereotype to white people and that shows in fictions and fandoms how you people can deep dive and "understand" how characters like vi and cait are morally gray and love them anyway and shield them critiques but tear characters like mel to spreads.
you dont allow black characters to be morally gray or a little bit condescending because usually that equals their character being important to the story so you cant push them to the side and not acknowledge them as much as you wish to and do to other black characters.
. mel is basically set UP for hate, degradation and misogynoir from the jump because she was put with a man who is regularly and commonly shipped with a white man who alot of yall would rather see him with then her. we already know how women who "get in the way" of mlm ships are treated by SOME queers from other fandoms (uraraka, sakura, hinata, amy etc) that unnecessary hate for being with jayce when hes "supposed" to be with viktor, mixed with the distain SOME of yall have for her morally gray, complex character with multiple levels to it PLUS her being a black woman, a feminine one at that is huge reasons on why she isnt nearly as acknowledged and talked about in the fandom as i think she should be because THIS IS MY OPINION!!!
vi is morally gray, caitlyn is morally gray, VIKTOR IS MORALLY GRAY (even though you guys try to pretend like he isnt and coddle him) EVERYONE IN THE DAMN SHOW IS MORALLY GRAY AND HAS DONE SOMETHING BAD yet i see mel get the most shit and slander for manipulating jayce..
as a feminine black women i see alot of similarities on the way yall treat black woman irl and fictional ones and i just wanted to spill my thoughts <3 thank you to anyone who read this and understood
