going by whatsthatâs twisted logic we should just let heroin be legal, because even though drug laws do help prevent drug-related deaths and crime, since they arenât fixing 100 percent of drug abuse then thereâs no point in having drug regulations at all??? and further, heroin doesnât kill people, people kill people. itâs just that they would have had less of a chance of dying if they didnât have the heroin in the first place, but letâs ignore that. you can see how pointless this logic is when applied to things like drugs, and itâs just as pointless when applied to guns.
look at countries like australia that banned guns and youâll see all their mass shootings disappeared and their gun related crimes (ie non-mass shootings) went down significantly. gun control and gun bans in america would likely prevent mass shootings, or at the very least decrease the amount and thatâs a big deal!! and you could argue, âwell gun related crime would still happen even if it wasnât a mass shootingâ and again that logic is like saying âif we canât prevent 100% of heroin abuse then thereâs no point banning it at allâ which is absurd. if even one life can be saved by gun control then itâs undoubtedly worth it.
as for the 3D printed gun argument⊠god shut up. people shooting up places rarely have patience, they do this on a whim and lucky for them itâs easy to buy guns. they arenât gonna have the patience to design a weapon, buy 3D printing software, print it, make sure it works properly, practice with it, and then go forward. youâre giving these shooters way too much credit, youâre searching for any kind of excuse, youâre making up a fantasy in your desperation to defend trigger-happy murders.
