“Do you think anything could keep me from finding you?” Kahlan teased, just relieved that wherever they were, they were together. “Even though you’re the Seeker, I seem to be the one constantly looking for you.” To her, this was just the next adventure, his death something they’d managed to undo. Whatever this world was, it was safer so far than anywhere else they’d been.

“I thought death had won that last round.” He stepped in close to her, shocked to see her here and smiling. His last sight of her had been in the Con Dar, killing him. And while he knew it somehow wasn’t her doing, that had still been the sight that had kept him up at night here. “How long have you been here?! It’d been so long I’d nearly given up hope...still was thinking this might be some weird afterlife...”

“I guess so.” He chuckled softly with a shrug. “I am doing okay, I just don’t do well with people pissing me off.” He admitted. “Sorry, these people in this town are driving me insane.”

“It’s alright, I can understand some frustration. This whole place is a bit unnerving, but you’ll get used to it and the people eventually. Everyone’s a little confused and high strung.”

“Richard!” Kahlan ran towards the Seeker, hugging him without hesitation. “Thank the spirits I found you.” She kissed him before leaning back, studying him. Not only did she have feelings for him, she was still the Mother Confessor and he was still the Seeker. She wanted to be sure he wasn’t hurt. “Are you alright?”

Richard had given up on seeing anyone from his world ever again, assuming his death is the reason he’d come to this world. So to say he was stunned was the simplest way to explain how he felt as Kahlan ran towards him, his arms moving around her instinctively and holding her if only to prove she was real. “Kahlan? You’re here...” Kissing her back gently, he frowned, studying her back. “Yeah, I..yes. Are you? I...I can’t believe it. I didn’t think I’d ever see you again.”

“Huh? Oh, um, no.” Derek didn’t really want to admit he was the one growling at the other guy that had walked off for pissing him off. He wasn’t too comfortable with telling everyone he was a werewolf just yet.

Richard smiled a little, studying the other. He could’ve sworn he heard growling, but decided he should drop it. None of his business. “Oh! Okay, sorry, thought you might’ve said something. You alright? You look tensed.”

Sheathing his sword, he shook his head. “I’m sure you have, but I apparently need to figure out a better spot to practice. Not many people would be as okay as you are, dealing with a stranger with a sword.”
