I feel like so many people get catered to with the bad boy archetype being everywhere in the media that they can not even imagine that some people think the sexiest thing a man can be for a woman is a down bad pathetic loser. Something that really riles me up is the, “Colin didn’t fall in love with Penelope until her glow up,” argument. Penelope had dressed and carried herself differently for a while before Colin’s kiss with her. He didn’t suddenly start chasing her down and proposing to her the minute she showed up in that emerald gown. He offered to find her a fucking husband for God’s sake. When he kissed her he realized that what he had felt for her was not just, “she’s my best friend feelings,” but romantic as well. He’d never known true romantic love before Penelope and he had no female friends other than Penelope….of course it wasn’t obvious to him.

I adore him. He infuriates me. I want everyone to fall in love with him on first sight. I want his family to reject him. I want him sopping wet and teary eyed. I would defend him with my life. I just want him to be happy. I think he's pretty when he cries. I want to stuff him in a blender and sieve out the solid bits in the goop and analyse them under a microscope. My prediction of Colin Bridgerton’s character going forward:

I think that we will get writer Colin. I personally think Eloise will be next season, but regardless (whether 5 or 6) I think we will get glimpses of domestic Polin at home. We will see Colin writing before inevitably going to “rescue” his sister with his brothers. I believe this season is more about Colin making up for lost time with Penelope and being a father, and he will come into his own as the show progresses.
