I’d imagine that Bucky dies in place of Nat because he’s all like, “you have people to look after, you have to move on.” Then he gives that grimace smile thing he does and says that Sam was always better then he was anyways(he uses maybe his super strength to fling Sam back as he jumps off). And Sam comes back completely stunned and everyone is like, what happened??? And Sam just stands there like, I loved him. He loved me. And he just breaks down. God now I’m sad what have you done lol

Bucky confessing to Yori and expecting the worst, except it never happens. Yori forgives him, tells him it was hydras fault not his. And then the flag smashers do their New York showdown or whatever. Sam and Bucky come in, save the day, and only get a little beat up in the process. Then they run into Yori (or Bucky brings Sam by to meet the closest thing to family Bucky’s got left) and it’s “this is my friend Sam” and Yori looks long and hard at the way they talk and eye each other and laugh. And finally he’s like “do you like to dance, Sam?” And Sam is like Yeah, and laughs about his ‘moves’ and Bucky is like OhNo! Because he knows where this is going. And then Yori is like “James enjoys dancing, too. He would love to take you out sometime.” And Bucky is mid apology when Sam says he’d love to.

I gotta say, when TFATWS and Wandavision were announced, if you'd told me that one would be a high-stakes character study that delves deep into grief and trauma with a side-plot involving a corrupt government agent trying to use one of the titular characters as a weapon and that the other one would be a romantic comedy......I would not have been able to correctly guess which was which
