imagine a goat with a hat
STOP-
what hat did you give the goat what is the instinctual hat you gave to this goat
me, wearing nothing but a sheer plunge-neck ballgown that’s plastered to my skin from the rain, soaking wet and trembling with cold and fatigue as i stand outside the entrance to the castle: p-please help me ;) i’m s-so lost and s-scared ;) ;) i have no where to stay for the night ;) ;) ;)
the sexy vampire lady who answered the door, and to whom the castle belongs: of course ;) you poor thing ;) ;) come inside, you must be freezing… you may stay as long as you need to recover from your ordeal ;) ;) ;)
You walked up to that house in the rain on purpose
the fuck else would I be sloshing around in a wet ballgown for
I drew it…. & animated it…
anti abortion propaganda that tries to like scare you into feeling guilty by reminding you that the fetus has body parts are so funny. "uwu please don't abort me I have eyes at 4 weeks old 🥺" nice try sucker I don't care if you see it coming
After seeing the Lena Luthor one I had to make one with the four female characters I would absolutely let step on me, so here you go 😂
Credit to @supercorpandbeyond for giving me the idea after I saw their Lena one
i may as well be yapping to a brick wall but i’m gonna talk about this scene anyway
cause what is so endearing and special to me, and what is one of the many reasons why i love clexa so much, is the domesticity of this scene, or more so what must’ve happened for them to get to this point
some way they end up in the comfort of lexa’s room together, each doing their own thing in peace and quiet
clarke went up to lexa’s room, “can i draw here?”
or
lexa invited clarke “would you like to spend time in my room while i read later?”
or
clarke was already there when lexa entered “i hope it’s okay i let myself in, my room’s too quiet”
or
they walked up to lexa’s room together after a meeting, not having to exchange a single word
and that same thing applied when they sat down, they don’t need to speak, are comfortable enough with one another to have some quiet time, where they can practice their hobbies and relax and be at peace and for a moment not have to owe anyone anything
a time when lexa felt so safe and comfortable with clarke up to the point where the rythm of her quiet breathing and the sound of the charcoal against her paper put her to sleep
not to mention clarke was technically lexa’s prisoner when this happened, but this didn’t change anything between them, i’m not even sure clarke minded
between the violence, the wars, the bloodshed, the politics, the betrayal and the lies, they can sit together and do their own thing in silence, a silence that’s actually silent as opposed to the loud silence in their heads when they’re alone at night, a kind of silence that reminds clarke of wednesday afternoons with her father and that reminds lexa of vast fields with costia
this scene can’t have been the first or last time they spend quiet time together, maybe clarke reads a book in the corner of the throne room while lexa finishes the last of the letters she’s writing, maybe lexa meditates with the sound of clarke brushing her hair in the background, maybe clarke draws again, lexa reads again, clarke naps, lexa braids, clarke paints, lexa cleans, clarke folds clothes, lexa lights candles, clarke draws again, and lexa reads again
god that gif set goes so crazy every time, no one is doing it like them. Heda wanted her SO. BAD. ‼️
Listen I get it ok. I was there in the camp of losing my fucking mind when this happened. But man I just... it's a shame that we get so lost in the gay sauce over this moment —
— that we really don't give enough credit to the rest of what's going on
Cuz like,,, at no point was Lexa actually afraid of Clarke. She'd just had her storm her ass into her tent in the midst of a hissy fit while holding a gun to a warrior's back, and Lexa's only response was to be offended that her makeup regimen got interrupted
Literally the girl was not fazed beyond just, "... what the fuck 😒?" And you know that because Clarke continued following her around the tent while they argued, HER PISTOL STILL VERY MUCH IN HAND, and the whole time Lexa is just flat out sassing tf out of her.
I just cannot stress enough how not at all intimidated by Clarke Lexa was.
But when Clarke called her out on her facade of having no feelings? When she blatantly called her a liar for pretending that she didn't care about the losses of her loved ones as deeply as she clearly did???
That's when Lexa's demeanor changed.
That's the moment Clarke became a danger.
Not because she ever thought Clarke would physically hurt her, but because she knew in that moment that Clarke actually saw her.
And it terrified the hell out of her.
Because you have this strong, fearless warrior. One who has accepted the reality of her own death since she was a child. One who has done everything she can to push away everyone and anything that makes her feel vulnerable. One who has spent years trying to bury all these feelings that she's convinced herself are a weakness.
And then this smartass, reckless, blonde little 👏menace👏to👏society just takes the very boot that Lexa had given her, and kicks the whole thing down.
And you see that in that moment. Not a fear for her safety or any intimidation of Clarke. You see that brave little toaster trying to keep it together while feeling the entire house of cards come tumbling down.
Because she already cared about Clarke. She admits that only a moment later. Because she is emotionally flailing here.
Desperately clinging to this mask with her normally regal tip of her chin that now only manages to come off shaky and unsure.
Every step she backs up is another piece of that facade falling, but she can't stop it because if she lets Clarke actually touch her, then that facade wouldn't just fall.
It would completely shatter.
And oh, oh this sweet summer child. She tries so valiantly one last time to save herself. Back pressed against the table, and clinging to her belief that to be alone is to be strong. But that snarled "Get. Out." through beared teeth and trembling lips is nothing more than the death rattle of that mantra, because the damage has already been done. Because the second Clarke even begins to include herself in that people that Lexa says she doesn't care about, Lexa immediately has to correct her.
Cuz the jig is up, and she knows it. Clarke has invaded her lands, stomped her way into her personal space, and terrifyingly made a place for herself in Lexa's very fragile heart.
And there was just nowhere left to run.
do you ever think about how - despite everything - lexa died exactly how she wanted to, in the comfort of her own room, with clarke by her side, her voice being the last thing she ever heard, her face being the last she ever saw and her hands being the last she ever felt
"I'm sorry. I never meant to turn you into this."
Thinking about how Clarke was raised to be a shield. How Abby said I know your first instinct will be to take care of everyone else. How Clarke just kept pushing and pulling herself in the direction she thought would save her people.
And as a shield, she knew it was her purpose. (Like pulling the lever knowing what it would do to her.)
And then the ground happened, and she was repeatedly hammered again and again by Bellamy, the 100, and Abby, and Fin, and Raven, and Octavia, and Mount Weather, and Lexa.
And suddenly, she wasn't a shield anymore. All her blunt edges were hammered out and sharpened. She was raised as a shield and turned into a weapon just to be able to protect people better.
And after all of that, Lexa takes one look at her. And fucking apologizes. And then tells her she's free because Lexa isn't upset that Clarke hates her as much as she's upset that Clarke hates herself.
Lexa was raised as a weapon for her people, Clarke was raised as a shield also for her people. That is where Lexa's "you were born for this, same as me" comes from. They were two sides of the same coin, they quite literally spent both their lives preparing to live and do whatever their respective people needed.
F*** jroth we were robbed of so much healing that could have happened. Of so much acceptance and love. Or like an impossible amount of angst.
Clarke initiating most every smooch in canon. She just wanted to kiss her girlfriend 🥺
Well ok listen. No 🤣😅
Lexa was the first one to initiate kissage.
I will never ever ever ever ever let that fact be forgotten. And this isn't aimed at you anon, it's truly not I'm just ranting. This is purely a point of order that I always feel is necessary to bring up because too often Lexa is, for understandable but ultimately misguided reasons, painted as being shy or reserved or hesitant in showing her affections.
She absolutely was not.
That girl? Went for it. Ok? She sucked in a shakey little breath, uttered those three apocalypticly romantic words—
and dove head first into the feeling that had been building between them from the start.
And not ONLY did she Go For It™, she really tried to make that kiss count 👇
Like the girl was barely willing to come up for air. And then she did, what did she do? What did she do?
That's right.
Cuz Lexa: does not half ass anything. Including going for the girl. She saw what she wanted and was Gonna Go For It 😏. Smoothe Heda style.
I mean even after Clarke said, "Not yet," Lexa continued to court her. Lowkey, granted, but she absolutely was courting her. Keeping Clarke close. Exhalting her position next to The Heda. Inviting her to Polis. Holding her hand when they went to blow the door. Keeping her protected (when Lincoln tries to follow, her furiously commanding him to stay and protect Clarke in her place)
She was respectful of Clarke's wish for more time, but still very much continued to persue her in subtle yet meaningful ways.
I've said it before and I'll say it again—will probably continue saying it until the people at the nursing home decide it's easier to just pull the plug to shut me up—but I think where people (again, not you specifically anon I'm just ranting 🥴) get it twisted is because after the mountain, Lexa gave Clarke space.
That's it.
Because again, she respected her!
She thought Clarke hated her. Despised her. She understood Clarke's hurt on a personal level, and understood how hard it is to let go of that. She had broken everything they had built, and wasn't sure it was something she could ever repair between them.
So even though she still left the door open for Clarke—giving Clarke protection, showing vulnerability, swearing oaths and vows to her, inviting her into her personal space, accepting and attempting to return intimate touches and not getting angry when she was rebuffed—she purposefully allowed Clarke to set the tone of their relationship.
She left it up to Clarke.
Not because she didn't want to go for it, but because she knew she had to.
She loved Clarke and respected Clarke enough to never cross the line she had drawn. After the mountain, nothing was the same as it was when they were alone in that tent so many weeks ago, just two young women forced to be leaders too young, trying to find balance in the universe between what they want and what they have to be.
But 👀
As soon as Clarke stepped over that line herself?
Once she waved the white flag and invited Lexa back in?
Lexa, still worried about overstepping this fragile truce between them, literally crying with the fear of losing Clarke forever, along with the hope and disbelief that this thing—this feeling she'd been carrying with her for months—was finally ok to let out?
What did she do?
She jumped on those lips
Was two seconds away from trying to crawl inside Clarke's mouth
So overall like, ok maaaaybe Clarke initiated more kisses. But I argue that's simply because of how things transpired. I fully believe, without a second of hesitation, that if things had gone differently or if they had been given enough time to really Be Together (fuuuuck you Jason), Lexa actually would've proven herself to be the more demonstrative partner. More kissy kissy.
Yes Clarke is a tactile person, yes she can be extremely affectionate. Lord knows she'd hug a tree if she felt it necessary. But Lexa? Lexa is a yearner. She's a lover babe. She wants kisses and hand holding and hugs and midnight candlelit talks in slinky nightgowns. And that's just what we know from the devastatingly little we were shown. Imagine the amount of stolen kisses and pecks to Grumpy Clarke Lips she would've indulged in if given the chance. Sleepy good morning kisses and "I'll see you at dinner" goodbye kisses. Nasty makeouts in the wake of pulling Clarke into shadowy corridors of tower that the only Heda's are allowed to go. Kisses to dry tears and kisses to bruised knuckles and kisses across clusters of tiny freckles.
I love Clarke and I'll never, ever claim that she isn't affectionate, because she is. But yo. Mm mm mm. Nobody has the market cornered on being Down Bad for her girlfriend's lips like Lexa is.
I mean look at this silly asshole
It's embarrassing girl close your mouth ಠ_ಠ
trying to make friends who are obsessed with the same ships as you
It’s been 10 years.
So let’s talk about it. Ten years ago I was on the frontlines with many other queers watching in utter horror as our favorite new icon was murdered. Lexa was a fictional character, but she symbolized so much more. There wasn’t nearly as much sapphic representation on tv, let alone on such a widely accessible channel, ten years ago as there is now. We were already starved for it. We’d been gifted an amazing character. A badass, young, female warrior who grown ass men respected and followed without question, who lead her people with sensibility and compassion. And then we were given enemies to lovers. The conflicted, complex, emotional roller coaster that was Clarke and Lexa. Two powerhouses who didn’t fall in love easily, they had to fight for it. No wonder Clexa was so iconic.
But we were also skeptical. We shouted loudly “We’ve seen this before!” “We’re afraid she’s going to be killed!” “We don’t want another victim of ‘bury your gays!’”
And we were promised Lexa would live.
We were lied to.
The network showed clips of the season finale with Lexa in it, to lure us into a false sense of security. Then that night, March 3, 2016, they gave us the Clexa sex scene, they gave us happy Clexa, they told us she would be fine, then they shot her on screen and we all watched our icon die.
I was 24 years old, a lesbian yearning for any on screen representation, and finally finding an incredible source. I cried for weeks. It hurt for years. I genuinely grieve this fictional character. I’m still not over the injustice, I just live with it deep in my heart. Lexa is part of me now. I haven’t had interest in any sapphic shows since. I’d been raised on Tara Maclay, and witness to Lexa. I’ve mistrusted tv writers ever since because I don’t want to get my heart broken again.
I never watched a single episode of The 100 after 3x07. I’ve seen clips of Lexa’s appearances and mentions. I know the significance of the series finale. The only thing I can say is Thank You to Alycia who chose her finale appearance with grace and understanding of the impact Lexa had. She was not going to let them use Lexa to hurt us again.
This is why Lexa is so deeply important to me. She is my icon. She is a symbol of the pain and injustice we suffer in the LGBT community. She is a warrior and a leader. She is my Heda.
Reshop, Heda
i can’t believe i’ve been around long enough to even say this but i feel like some people aren’t old enough to realize just how important the way general wicked press played out by the cast + crew along with the films themselves are to the general sapphic community.. or the parts of our community that care about media, at least
and you can call this absurd all you want, but you won’t be able to convince me that something as big as fucking WICKED being promoted—and literally shot as—a love story between two women, downplaying the role of the male love interest, with jon chu fighting universal tooth and nail to keep integral, and some of the gayest, scenes and moments between glinda and elphaba, and having the co-lead, who just so happens to one of the biggest pop stars in the world, calling glinda a lesbian on social media every chance she gets while trying her best to sneak glinda’s queerness into conversations despite the obvious gag order is not a HUGE thing
not in my world.
not in the world that’s lived through clexa, swanqueen, supercorp, the abrupt dismissal of primetime television’s first and longest running lesbian (arizona robbins) just to be replaced with a gay man, and multiple canceled sapphic centered shows just within the last decade.
it’s not the pinnacle of sapphic media by ANY means—it’s not even allowed to be explicitly canon or talked about—but if you have even a sliver of knowledge about the historical treatment of sapphic media then you know that this was a big deal for us.
we get a sliver of smth good for ONCE and yet it’s downplayed, its actresses dragged through a misogynistic and racist smear campaign while the men of an underground gay show get uplifted and receive endless praise by the general public but what’s new
the playbook never changes
Good.
