feels bad saying this because i know we are insanely lucky to have access to mainstream trans art/literature in the first place, but on a purely personal level i have next to no interest in stories about young, attractive trans people who pass well and have nice, normal relationships with other nice, normal people. i'm bored of hopepunk and romcoms and high-school dramas and uplifting tales of self-discovery written to appeal to the broadest possible demographic so they don't upset someone's mum. i am sure those stories are very valuable to some people but i do not care for them
and to be clear i am glad that those stories exist. they have value and that value is both artistic and political. but sometimes it feels like we're doing this dance of appeasement like "see??? we're not perverts or freaks! we're just like you!" and i think that sucks. cis people get to write about whatever they want and we should as well. equality 💪
in 2024 and beyond i am manifesting change on the trans literary landscape, let's have slasher fiction, let's have body horror, let's have terrible pulpy crime novels, let's have unhappy endings, let's have morally bankrupt protagonists and weird sex and toxic relationships and everything else that would make a middle-left guardian columnist piss their pants, and Yes i am taking recommendations
?????? NATIONAL HERO???
this person needs protection this is not a joke we need to keep them safe
not a woman tho! she isn’t comfy with that word
just htought i'd let u know that this is the funniest shit anyone has ever said abt me
Hey, you are not an embarrassment for not knowing how to do certain household chores/basic self-care. They do not come naturally to us. A lot of it takes practice! Maybe you had a neglectful guardian. Maybe you had one that was very coddling and never thought to teach you. Maybe you haven't lived in a place where these things were available to you or needed. Doesn't matter. It's okay to not know and far more common than you might realise.
That said, this website provides very simple instructions on how to do everyday tasks such as making your bed, using a washing machine, cooking different foods, washing dishes, taking a shower, etc. All you have to do is use the search bar to find the task you're struggling with, and it'll come up with what you need + other related how-to's:)
If you're having trouble navigating it, let me provide you with some examples:
How to clean dishes by hand
How to make your bed (with visual demonstrations of each step!)
How to fold clothes (with visual demonstrations of each step!)
How to take a shower & dry yourself off (also provides ways to shave beards, armpits, legs and genitals)
How to shave legs, armpits, beards, pubic areas, etc. (a more in-depth guide)
How to mop the floor
How to sweep the floor
How to swallow pills
How to make small talk
How to make eye contact in different situations (or how to avoid it while still looking natural)
It's also perfectly okay if these don't help or aren't appealing to you. Unfortunately, nothing helps everyone.
Also if the reason you don't know is developmental , intelectual or learning disabilities making you struggle even if you've been taught a bunch of times , you are so cool and awesome too :^) [smiley face ]
Your kids need independence.
Do any of u have decent recipes that are like 5 ingredients (not including spices) and take 45 mins or less to prepare i gotta stop eating sandwiches for dinner
yeah hang on
ignore the title of this google doc because it's a long story but it's a really solid recipe for southwest chicken alfredo
this is a vegetarian potato curry recipe that's about 75% spices; once you get the potatoes in there you can really do whatever you want with it
this is literally just pasta, broccoli, and cheese babey and you can live off that shit for DAYS it makes such a big portion
bro this spinach/pesto/3 cheese flatbread is so fucking tasty bro
also you can make the flatbread yourself it's super quick!!
oh hey I'm eating this white chickpea chili right now, much like the curry it's mostly spices and you can do p much do whatever you want with it
don't let the name fool you these potatoes are delicious any time. not just breakfast.
this is slightly more than five ingredient when you add them together but if you have time and really wanna fuckin treat yourself I recommend these chicken strips + this cornbread + either these potatoes or these buttered veggies on the side.
These are my two favorite comfort foods. They're very easy to make and dont take long to cook.
Garlic butter rice
Orzo mac and cheese (comes out a little bit soupy)
this recipe for gogumabap (sweet potato and rice) saved my life when i couldn't eat hardly anything for a long time. the recipe itself calls for a heavy bottomed pot but you can absolutely use a rice cooker and put the rice and diced sweet potato in together and just let the machine do its thing
No no it's the principle of the matter. If I could have found it we would have used my Wii u gamepad to control the volume, this was the next logical step
bpd culture is leaving the chat and blocking every person in there but only on one acc in one social media so that they can still reach out and ask what is wrong and apologise multiple times but then it doesn't matter whether they do or don't reach out because you feel like shit in both cases. bpd culture is realising that you're just trying to get the same reaction out of people that you would give in such situation and you feel bad about it because you don't want to hurt people the same way you were hurt but you also kinda feel entitled to that

I read a very good article on muscle regulation problems in ADHD, but alas it doesn't exist it English. (Though the research it's based on does.) It's about how 80% of people with ADHD have difficulty regulating muscle tension.
If you have ADHD, these motor function issues may be linked to it (and may be helped by medication):
Muscle pain! Just in general! Super common!
Being unable to sit upright/straight-backed for long periods of time. (Over-tension in chest and back leads to exhaustion.) Poor posture is a symptom of ADHD and not your fault!
Getting out of breath quickly, despite being in decent shape. (Again, muscle tension in chest and back.)
Problems with handwriting and fine motor function. (Shoulder tension limits mobility.) Tension in hands/elbows means it's hard to control how hard you write, especially over time.
Co-movement in hands and feet. When you write or draw, you might move your feet along too -- this why it's more comfortable to sit on your feet while doing this!!
General clumsiness, being able to fine control muscles leads to bumping into things. It's hard to control both the force and the flow of movement.
Physical exhaustion and tiredness. Cause. You're tensing.
All this does not necessarily prevent ADHDers from being accomplished athletes, though they found these same problems in ADHD athletes. Nor does ADHD mean general motor function problems, so it may not necessarily be detected in motor function tests. And even if you know how to do stuff and can do it, these problems usually show up with repeated movements.
As you grow older, your body learns to compensate better - however there's also higher instance of muscle pain and exhaustion.
All these things are improved by stimulant ADHD medication. It is also very beneficial to do muscle stretches, esp for your back.

Some spins on the "mostly male team with a token woman" trope:
The woman is trans and stayed in her old circle of bros even after transition
The woman is the only one in her circle of "girls" who didn't turn out to be a trans man
Everyone is bigender. They take turns being the one woman.
