Is anyone in a long term relationship and have a hell of a time talking about things because they are a “Straight, white, male”tm whose parents are still together for 40 years and has had Financial support from them to the point that in the past 3 years you’ve seen checks with 5 places made out to him and sometimes that makes certain conversations hard because I am not a “straight,white,male” tm and I came from a poor family?

For example we are both child free and he asked me what I was thinking about and I said, “How awful it was for the writers of the big bang theory to force children on women who had previously stated various times they didn’t want kids. That it would have been really cool for at least one person to stay CF and due to how it ended I’ll never watch it again.” and he was all like why does it matter? And then I began to explain why representation matters. How it would be nice to be openly CF at work without people taking it personally or talking down to me. How the more often we see things the more often it doesn’t shock people. So he went well I kinda see your point and I just fcking snapped okay?

I mean not yelling but fcking “kinda”?!? Dude. Wtf?

So I went off. “You only kinda get it because All life you have seen yourself in the media. Books, movies, games etc have always had straight white males and generally they were the primary. Even now the “straight,white,male”tm is still heavily represented in most media. There is no way you could fully understand because you don’t know what’s it’s like to not see yourself in media. Remember our discussion about how GTA was going to have a female protagonist? Remember (another recent discussion about gay pride parade and how lgbt+ community needs more representation)? Remember my recent beef with more fat women in media (There was a change from cartoon beauty and the beast to live action where they got rid of a fat character; which i understand is a “small” change but it mattered to me that a fat person was okay for the cartoon but not live action)? Even now I can remember a lot of times when a man being CF in media was mentioned and no one batted an eye.”

I go into the tag for epilepsy and its all flashing lights. We can’t use our own tag because people without epilepsy fill it up with improper warnings.

Use ‘flashing’ in place of ‘epilepsy’ in your tags. You aren’t warning people of epileptics, you’re warning us of flashing lights. Please please tag properly. Epileptics say this endlessly and constantly and it’s ignored. You are risking lives by doing this.
