Lucas squinted for a seconds at the girl before standing up and walking into the cafeteria to grab some coffee. He returned to the bench a few minutes later, two cups, one with water and one with coffee. “Now,” he smiled, handing the coffee over. “I think I deserve a little chat for that,” he joked.

“Okay, FINE. I don’t know you. But I’d like to. And I think you need someone to listen. So... If you decide to STAY, which I think you should, we can talk,” he looked at the girl, concern reading all over his face. He didn’t want to push but he also didn’t want her to go. “But you ARE more than that.”

“Luke…” She sighs, ducking her head a fraction as she chews on her lip before looking back towards her friend. Yes, the tour had been - is - everything she wanted, but it wasn’t as though she could just forget about the guilt that ate away at her; nor could she hope to fill in the places were Nathan and Lucas and all of her friends back in Tree Hill used to be.

“… I miss you too.” She replied finally, smiling thinly as she moved closer, folding herself into him as she embraced him.

Lucas wrapped himself around Haley, wishing that he could help her. He knew that she was hurting too, even if she were doing everything she ever wanted. Her dreams were his, too, that’s what best friends were for. They believed in you no matter what and they supported you in everything you do, even if it wasn’t their first choice. Still, as Lucas placed his chin on the top of Haley’s head like he had done for so long, his heart ached for her. “Is it everything you ever dreamed of?” Lucas said softly, sighing with happiness.

She gave his hand a gentle squeeze shooting him a small smile. “Well, just so you know, you are.” Her free hand came to rest on her stomach for a brief moment, thumb brushing back and forth to soothe the little bit of nausea that had remained. “Alright, help me up. Mom’s gotta brush her teeth,” she laughed, putting her hand on the back of the tub to help push herself up.

“Use some of that mouthwash, too, or else Dad can’t kiss Mom,” he smiled, not really joking completely but the playful tone helped. Lucas pulled himself up from the ground of the bathroom. “Are you sure you’re okay?” he asked, holding out his hand to help JJ. “I could call the doctor and see if he had any suggestions...” Lucas proposed, unsure of how to help besides ask a professional.
