tbh @iyame‘s Incubus Iyami and Skel’s relationship is based a lot on those two........)
Your human Iyami is hot but your sKELETON KING IYAMI THO HOT DAMN I LOVE IT
Hiyori smiles at her father, nodding quietly. “I understand, father,” she continues,“hopefully we can do that together one day! But you’re so busy!” Hiyori pouted at that thought, that maybe it was an empty promise! She just wanted to go out and explore, but that wasn’t exactly easy when a lot of humans lurked around- humans who hated her father.
The banshee smiled wider,“ Hopefully, it will be soon, too! Then I can prove myself, zamasu!”
He noticed that pout, and if he’d had a heart in that empty ribcage, it would have sunk at the sight of it...“Well... yes. I am very busy. But I want to make time for you, Hiyori.” Skel held hand up to his moustache, pulling at it, thoughtfully, pondering his current schedule in his head. “Hmm...”
“Actually. Me just had a thought... How about later this week? I know me made plans, but I can cancel them. The torture of captured spies and hostages can wait for you, my little terror!”
Those were some good lines… Skel made a mental note of those so he could use them later when shouting at his soldiers to heighten their morale. “Well… me can tell that me and you think very much alike, zansu.”
He almost put it even better than he had… almost.
It was then he caught sight of the arrows, plunged into his skin like they were nothing more than splinters… what a sight. He couldn’t imagine how irksome having to bear that burden each day must have been… he’d see to it that he’d get this beast cleaned up, and those removed… maybe apply some armour, get him a better weapon… he’d mold this minotaur into something of his own, something to fear… something to be proud of!
“So. What do you say? Are you taking me up on my offer, or not?”
The silence between them was one full of weighing pros and cons. Does he continue living the life he leads, picking off adventurers, or does he seek more than that? Honestly, long as a human suffered by the end of the day he’d consider it a day well spent. And this… Skelyami with his boastful pride and speak of an army, what could he offer? No longer a life of solitude for one. Company among other monsters like himself.
To no longer be the ‘monster’ who stuck out among the fair skinned humans.
He grinned suddenly.
“I readily accept your offer, My Lord.”
“Excellent!” Skel cried, clenching a fist and giving it a small shake in an small act of celebration at the news. “Trust me, Katsutaur, you will come to find out for yourself that you have made the right choice.”
And, truth be told, Skeleyami was glad he’d hadn’t had to make it plain he’d be better of join his army than being an enemy of them... He hadn’t had to resort to tactics which forced this creature on to his ranks... that would have just been tiresome...! Plus... he found that he liked this guy. He wanted earn his respect rather than strike fear into his heart.
“My castle isn’t too far from here... you’ll have to share chambers with other soldiers of your rank, but me can assure you that the best soldiers get the best treatment... so, show me the fruits of your labour and training and you will get certain perks, zansu...” Katsutaur was already on Skel’s good side from their little chat and how easy it was to convince him, so that was a good start!
“Seems I was rather missed, zansu.”

“Well… a leader would be nothing without his loyal followers, would he?” He responds. The demon king then reached and lifted his second in command into his strong grip, barely having to exert himself at all due to being so strong… and Iyame being so light… “As brilliant and powerful as me is, the support of my army and trusted subjects are what keep this kingdom from crumbling, zansu…”
He made sure the other’s arms were draped around before continuing to lavish his second in command, caressing and tracing his thin, skeletal fingers over his torso and down his sides… Thankfully, he’d removed the spiked chest piece from his armour before he had arrived in the throne room, but still, the large pieces of metal plating were serving as rather obstructive to him... After the shirt has been shifted down the incubus’ shoulders, Skeleyami leans in, his sharp teeth tracing over the other’s neck, careful to be delicate as to not go and slice open a jugular vein…
There was no feeling of breath escaping out of his lipless mouth, but the skeletal being still made noises to that effect, low pants that sounded like they were rumbling deep from his ribcage… “Me plans to prolong this so that you are practically begging for my touch, zansu… You make such wonderful sounds when you are desperate and needy, Iyame…” The smoky blackish tendrils were curling around the long tail now, tracking along them and rubbing them at a quick pace. “But it has been a while for the both of us… it might end up with me not being able to hold out as long as me intended us to, zansu…”
(ooc; I found this song on soundcloud, and I got real Skeleyami vibes from it.)
Katsutaur listened keenly to Skeleyami, nodding his head a little. Shifting his stance to a slightly more casual, yet still could easily swing into arms in a moments notice, he set his hammer down and rested his hands on the handle of it, leaning forward as if he were a farmer observing his crops growing on a nice Summer morning. Doing so, his arm muscles flexed and by leaning forward Skeleyami may see something he hadn’t spotted before.
Arrows. A fair number of them lodged into the back of the Minotaurs shoulders. Many of them looked old, and had been there for a long time. His tail, meanwhile, swatted back and forth as he listened. His lips pulled back to reveal more of his sharp teeth, some still slightly stained with blood.
“Long ago…” he said, slowly, “Humans were small and stupid and feared the darkness. When night fell, when the Moon rose to the skies they would huddle around their fire places. Cling to what weapons they had. They were terrified of what lurked in the darkness because we owned the darkness and they knew it.” Katsutaur paused for a moment, his eyes going up to lock with the skeleton. “I think it’s about time somebody reminded them why they were once so afraid of not only the night, but us.”
Those were some good lines... Skel made a mental note of those so he could use them later when shouting at his soldiers to heighten their morale. “Well... me can tell that me and you think very much alike, zansu.”
He almost put it even better than he had... almost.
It was then he caught sight of the arrows, plunged into his skin like they were nothing more than splinters... what a sight. He couldn’t imagine how irksome having to bear that burden each day must have been... he’d see to it that he’d get this beast cleaned up, and those removed... maybe apply some armour, get him a better weapon... he’d mold this minotaur into something of his own, something to fear... something to be proud of!
“So. What do you say? Are you taking me up on my offer, or not?”
After so long of studying the overlord, iyame was adapt to picking up on the others actions however complicated it might have been at first. He was a skeleton afterall, so conveying emotion through features probably wasn’t his thing. Nevertheless, Iyame found that he quite liked it that way… “You’re so smart, zansu…me was silly to think you’d worry over something so simple, ufufu…”

“Seems I was rather missed, zansu.”
(ooc; AH HA connecting my Iphone to the computer and using the personal hotspot worked! YES! >8)) ...)
(ooc; not gonna be able to reply to RPs or tumblr IMs until my internet gets fixed. I have 3G on my phone though, at least, even if its painfully slow.)
He’s a spooky skeleton but he’s still… Iyami…
The reaction doesn’t go unnoticed in Iyame’s eyes, knowing just how to get to the skeleton overlord. One of his favorite things to do, actually! Leaning against the throne, he gives the taller a half lidded gaze, smirk only seeming to grow wider as he caved.
“A bit? Ah, ah, if we’re not going to be bothered until morning, well–ahuhu, I think it’s enough time to be catching up, zansu…” He croons, eyeing the servants as he speaks. Once they’re the only two in the room, there is no hesitation before he sweeps himself into the overlords lap, stretching his body out some while tentatively sipping at the drink he still held thoughtfully.
“Hnmm, eager to hear about things, are we? Well, if it’s that important, me must inform you that we’ve lost two guild members.” He swishes his drink around some, watching the liquid. He doesn’t seem interested in this at all despite how important it may be (mainly because he figures it’ll more than likely put his master here out of the mood). “We may have another enemy on our hands. Me hasn’t found out that much but some of the others are working on retracing the attacks from where they occurred–even then, we wouldn’t be able to gather much information. Me feels as though they’re on the move…” His eyes flit up from the glass and the the larger beings eyes.
“Me would have told you sooner but you were already swamped with work, zansu…it’s not fair for you to have no time to yourself. You have so much responsibility…hahh, how admirable it is…” The incubus repositions himself some to where he’s turned face to face with the other. He has to look up at him however, in order to meet his gaze. Setting the glass upon one of the chair arms of the throne, he trails a thoughtful finger over the chest plate the demon wore. “You rarely get any time to sit back an enjoy yourself like this..”
He always knew how to push his buttons... if there was one person who could fluster the demon king, it was his second in command, for he knew him better than anyone... that could be both a blessing and a curse at times, unfortunately.
Once the incubus took a seat on his lap, Skel placed a large hand at the small of his back, just above where his long, forked tail poked out of his suit. With his free hand, he once again picked up the wine glass, and it didn’t take long before he was down to the last few drops, taking time to listen carefully to Iyame’s status report. “Hmm... That’s troubling. But, from my journey around the Dark Lands to find recruits, I have made great progress, so that should make up for any lost soldiers... And hopefully stave off any potential attacks on the kingdom.... We’ll be ready. Me is not worried.”
The skeletal being’s gravelly voice softens slightly as he stares back down at Iyame, his lower jaw shifting slightly in what may have been his version of a smirk. “Well... I appreciate your concern. But, that’s just the reality of being someone in my position... But, of course... a little... down time would definitely do me some good, zansu...” One of his gloved fingers began to trace small circles into his back, still staring at him, avidly. To a normal person, his gaze may have been hard to read as he had no human facial features... to Iyame, however, it was the look he was given whenever they were left... completely alone together.
A very well recognized look indeed.
Oh, she was so glad to make him proud! She did learn everything from him, after all. She smiles at the mention of the book,“ Oh! Well, no, but I’ve been studying it- and I’m going to see if I can make any of the potions stronger than they normally are, zamasu. Eer- I guess trying to enhance the recipes..”
She clasps her hands together, rambling on, “I’ve already made all the potions normally! I guess it’s just something to do, it gets kind of boring when everyone else is off on adventures, and when I’m stuck in a tower most of them time.”
“Aw... Well, you do know that being in that tower is where you’re safe, don’t you?” Skel asked her, reaching one of his large hands over to affectionately brush some hair out of her eyes. “Of course, you’re growing up and getting better at taking care of yourself... but you know your papa has a lot of enemies that wouldn’t hesitate to cause you harm if you ventured off alone, right...?”
“I’ll tell you what, though- next time I go out for a walk around the Dark Forests, you can come with me, zansu. Lots of ingredients deep in those woods, right?”
One of his ears flicked, either being bothered by some bug, or was that intent on listening to what this Lord made of bones and glowing eyes was saying. He’d never been propositioned before. Ordered, yes. But never given an opportunity of choice. Having been a ‘kept’ Minotaur for the first several seasons of his life had meant discipline and cruelty at the hands of mankind. It was only after his freedom did he have a choice in where he went, what he did, and who he killed.
Which was everyone, more or less save for a lucky few who had survived to spread these stories. Still, the stories had brought food to him. That was always good.
And now this Dark Lord was offering him a place in an army despite having never been in one before. Was he that desperate for comrades? Was his army as big as he seemed to boast? Maybe he was just getting started. A low, slow burn that would only grow larger and deadlier like a fires spark falling into a dry field of wheat. It could become a raging inferno.
Could.
“This army of soldiers at your command, Lord,” Katsutaur said, “With who do they battle against?” there were many races in the world, after all. None so horrible and deadly as Man, though. Other intelligent races were all fair game, if they came to him looking for death he happily gave it to them but he was in a genuine companionship with one Dark Elf who tended to pass through every five, six seasons. Good shot with an arrow that one. “The Elves? Dwarfs? …Man?”
This minotaur asked the right sort of questions. Smart... he was smart. Smarter than he looked, for Skeleyami had met many a foe and ally alike who were all brawn and no brains... If it was brute force he wanted, he could get that in waves, many ogres and trolls could do grunt work if he demanded them to...
“Well... anyone who opposes me, really. Anyone who I deem a threat to the kingdom, to the Dark Lands... the current threat to our way of life right now is indeed Man, zansu... Like I said, I am feared by demons and humans alike... but it is humans who should be most fearful.” In reality, one could see Skel as a vicious dictator rather than someone who wished for a better way of life for the people.. but that was subjective... he only punished those he felt deserved it, such as backstabbers, cowards... people who would double cross him... and rewarded those he trusted and befriended generously, as long as they remained on his good side. “Demons are the superior race- we are who introduced magic and alchemy and all sorts of things to humans, only for them to take it from us, to cast us out and push us to live in the Dark Lands after The War... I want our kind to take back what is rightfully ours!”
“Why should humans get to parade around the Dark Lands freely after what they did to us?!”
(ooc; tfw when of your favourite artists likes ur blog!!!)
“Yeah, well…me does pride myself on keeping things tidy, zansu. Ufu, in some circumstances anyway.” Iyame gives a wink and clicks his tongue, stopping somewhere’s near the throne once the other had made himself comfortable.
He accepts his glass with a pinky raised, taking a sip himself and letting out a delighted hum shortly afterwards. “Hmm~ Me can’t imagine how tired you must be, trekking for such a long time. Such hours and hard work you put in….you must be aching for some relaxation, zansu. Personally, me finds the best sort of relaxation comes from releasing all of that tension.”
Skeleyami almost choked on his wine, giving a small splutter but making sure to mask it as to not look undignified. After drawing the wine glass away from his lips, he sets it down on the tray held out for him, and side glances his rather promiscuous commander... it didn’t take much to catch on to what he wanted the pair of them to spend this evening doing.
“Aha... Well, you seem to be, at least.” The demon comments, somewhat amused. “Me supposes we... do have a bit of catching up to do...” Giving a wave of his hand, he motions for his servants to leave the throne room. “Lock the door behind yourselves, and no disturbing us until morning, got it? Good.”
After the door shut behind the last of them, he patted his lap, eyeing the incubus, closely. “Alright... well... At least talk to me a bit about how things were whilst I was away before taking off your clothes, yes?”
My what pretty words coming from such a creature. He’d never met any rulers, or lords before. Sure they had sent many to their doom, by way of sending noble men and women to cross paths with himself but he’d never met one face to face, least of all in the flesh. In a manner of speaking. The Minotaurs eyes was taking in the sight of him, the hard angles of his armor, the large teeth, the glow of red pupils in the black, empty sockets of his skull. He certainly looked like he could fit the role of a Lord.
He held his weapon still, rarely to be apart from it even as he slept. Regal as this new comer was, he was no young calf fresh out of the maze. He wasn’t going to be lowering his guard down, least of all around a skeleton.
“They call me many names. Many of which are insults, or cries for mercy.” the Minotaur replied simply. “I call myself Katsutaur.” it was the only thing he remembered of his mother, the name given to him. Anything else she may have given him be it warmth, affection, or even her milk was long since lost seeing as how he’d been all but ripped from her arms at such a young age.
“Pray, Lord,” he spoke carefully, preferring to avoid a fight tonight that he wasn’t sure he could walk away from and preferring to keep this Lord in better spirits than sour ones. “What brings you to these woods, at this time of night?”
“Katsutaur, eh?” Skeleyami repeated. “Then, that is what I will call you as well, zansu.” Well, they’d gotten introductions out of the way, so that would make things a lot easier... The demon king approached him, lowering his shield as he felt comfortable to do so by now, as the Minotaur seemed to be well mannered... to those who deserved it, anyway.
“A reasonable question... I’m not here to fight you, that’s not my intent... As much as it would add to my already infamous reputation for people to know I fought you in battle, there are much better uses for your... talents.” He felt something underneath his boot, and kicked it aside, realizing afterwards that it was a human skull... “No, I have heard many tales of a beast that haunts these woods, possessing immense strength, a merciless warrior that not only kills but also consumes his victims, Those are admirable traits in me’s book, zansu.” He places the shield across his back, walking so that he was a foot or two in front of him now, his piercing red eyes staring at him, avidly.
“Those traits are what I look for in my soldiers. To put it simply... me is making an offer for you to join my army, zansu. You are well on your way to being a commanding officer in my ranks, but with a little training, me could see you living and fighting to your full potential in no time.”
