Material/technique: brail texture; six-color UV screen print Dimensions (Height x Width): 512 x 815 mm / 20 3/16 x 32 1/16 in Artist Alex Dodge made this print with a computer program that builds virtual spaces. The artist wanted to point out the contrast between the geometric human-made tiles and the wavy organic shapes made by the water. The geometric shapes (tiles) were formed by using angle measurements. The organic shapes (waves) were made by taking photographs of waves. Dodge used the computer program to blend the shapes together.

Something I loved about Evil Dead Burn is how the movie doesn't flatten abuse into deception. The idea that physical abuse and love coexist is one I am glad more movies are acknowledging. And I am so happy that it isn't used as a way of making abuse morally grey. Instead, writers are aware that love is why people stay inside abuse, that love is what maintains the abusive dynamic, and that love is not good enough.

Love is not pure or safe. It is not a virtue. It is not a personality. And love that does not move one to be considerate, kind, understanding, is not good enough. Love isn't an excuse when it is an entitlement.
