Riven actually loves hanging with the Winx girls so much (and not just because of Musa). It actually first started with Flora (bc I love that hc) randomly striking up a quiet conversation about her flowers. He had no idea why she was talking to him as if they were already besties, but he was hooked almost immediately. Gardening hang outs with Flora became tinkering sessions with Tecna became walks in the mall and trying out new cafes with Stella became hikes and rock climbing with Aisha became general pranks and tomfoolery with Bloom. And, of course, he’d somehow always end up with Musa, and it didn’t matter what they were doing. She could be reading a book and he could be staring at her, having the time of his life because he just spent the day with his Adopted Big Sisters+Feral Little Sister Bloom, and now he’s hanging out with the most amazing girl in the world whom he’s fallen head over heels for (the girls have given both of them the shovel talk, and Riven was more touched to be considered important enough to protect than intimidated by the talk).

here's the song in case you haven't listened:

okay so the song is called mama šč which basically means mother Russia because there's a letter in Russian alphabet for the sound šč (Щ) so it was an acceptable way to allude to Russia without putting the word Russia in the title or anywhere else.

the song starts with the words "mom bought a tractor" which refers to Belarus because a) they make a very known model of tractors called Belarus (Белару́с) and b) Lukashenko gifted Putin a tractor for his birthday recently, so the lyrics mean that Russia has "bought" and controls Belarus.

then we have "mom kissed a moron" which means that there are people who still support and worship Putin (the moron in question).

the "Armageddon" part is about nuclear weapons.

then they recite the croatian alphabet just to hint at the title so people would make a connection between our alphabet and the Russian alphabet.

then they say "mom I'm going to play, mom I'm going to war" which is Putin starting a war because he thinks that the whole world is his toy and that he can play with people's lives the way he does.

and then they say "that little psychopath, evil little psychopath" which is also obviously Putin.

that's pretty much all when it comes to the lyrics, but their performance is also interesting because the singer is dressed as drag Stalin, one of them that comes on later with the rockets is dressed as Rasputin and he has "njinle" written on his forehead which is an anagram for Lenin. there are more cool details, but these are the main things you need to know ❤️

So Germany could have had an interesting and original entry with Eskimo Callboy’s Pump It. But unfortunately the NDR didn’t think it would be played on the radio, which is important for some reason. (Radiotauglichkeit ey, was ein Konzept)

Instead the choice is between six mostly forgettable songs, so I am once again excited for last place this year.

My expectations were low this year, but I had hope we would finally choose someone good. Over 900 artists applied yet 6 generic pop-songs were chosen? We truly deserve last place again.
