micah is one of those characters i cant draw for the life of me but i keep returning to him when i think of potential comics. a large part of that is the Beast Island element. Micah, just like Entrapta, was assumed dead, and was left on Beast Island with nobody looking for him. He missed his daughter's entire life. How does that impact him? How does that impact everyone who thought he was dead? They should be just as fucked up by it, moreso even, than the other characters (such as Catra and Bow) were by Entrapta re-emerging.

I think you can see the impact of that on his magic and his appearance which is much grittier in S5 than in his s3 cameo. He is also a dark magic user. Dark Magic is chronically under explored too. There's a lot that can be done with Micah, Glimmer, and Mystacor.

I know why they didn't waste much time on him, there wasn't any space. It's just that there are many insane concepts in the show that can be played with.

I said this in another post somewhere but we're also told that he's a lot like Glimmer which means he should be kind of a stubborn hothead and I'm sad we didn't get to explore that more

That's the post that inspired this one. We see child Micah and he IS a lot like Glimmer. But we don't get to see Micah's stubborn 20s from when he was leading the Rebellion. He gets an episode in season 5 where he teaches Frosta to be a bit less violent, but that's it.

do you think Entrapta learnt how to be a tailor before or after the White Out episode? because they are in standard outfits here but she made Hordak a unique outfit a short time later.

"No. These are Horde issue outfits."

"Yeah, Hordak likes things to be red and black. All the time. It's kind of his thing.

"Oh. Okay then. Unfortunately I cannot sew yet. I will resolve this next time!"

I love your characters and art so much 🥹🔫 how do you do your stylized proportions??? I’ve been trying to figure out a stylized version of bodily anatomy that matches how I do my stylized faces but it’s really hard

i think everyone has something they do unintentionally when drawing; as in a mistake in proportions they might have to fix later. i've seen it in different shapes n forms due to being in art school; you're not alone in this 😭😭

my advice is to try to be aware of the unconscious mistakes you make every time you draw? like, have it at the back of your mind and check for them later.

when it comes to developing a technique, the best thing you can do is make a board or some sort of collage of works of art you like. study the singular images if you feel like, but then try to compile them into some sketches that interpret the traits you want to include in different ways

also study anatomy!! one of great ways to learn the way human body (or anything really) is built is making quick sketches. there are sites that can help you, personally i'm used to line of action.

you don't have to sit and slave over those sketches too long, you can just sketch a couple characters as a way to exercise; also it's a good way to warmup. LET YOURSELF BE BAD AT IT YOU WILL MAKE MISTAKES AND YOU WILL NEED TO MOVE ON AND FOCUS ON MAKING THE NEXT SKETCH. I AM YELLING.

when it comes to proportions in my own art, i tend to elongate the whole character without even meaning to-- but that means that the proportions go for the whole body.

the way i go around drawing bodies is a stick figure (who can't draw a stick figure, i can do it even if im artblocked) so that i can keep the pose fluid & then build the character from chunks of blocky shapes. simple to complicated, slowly so that i can understand where everyting is supposed to be

keep in mind, the shapes in the images are grossly oversimplified, since every part that i broke down on there also breaks down into smaller ones, the same way muscles in an arm break; you just try to mold them into weird blocks

oh also i start from drawing the torso bc everything is attached to the torso n stuff

Some proof that Horde Prime was just max aura farming 24/7 is that his screens and UI are all ✨ aesthetic ✨. And it’s intentional. Bro could literally just stream everything through the hivemind but CHOOSES to have shit on display, including the holograms that his armored fingers make. Genuinely, exactly how often before Etheria came out of despondos was this guy having people on board? There was no one else on the ship, or at least no one that was integral enough to his work to show. Entrapta, Bow, Catra, and Glimmer also never found or mentioned anyone else being on board.

And back to his screens. His fucking peacock shaped cathedral window OLEDs because yeah, the man was PEACOCKING! They have this pretty subdued rainbowy pattern on them but that’s not the natural state of the screen. We see the screens power off when he punches them or other times when they’re damaged and the pattern goes away. So bro just has like a custom screensaver running 24/7 for the heck of it.
