Inside the new home of another lady I remember from #openspace's last visit - her previous shelter was up some really steep slope that even we had trouble with. The combination of the rope/string/cloth tied over the roof beam and the mat she slides with allow her to move pretty much anywhere in the house. Being much closer to the road also allow neighbours to come visit more regularly. Great work by the #MaeLa #Shelter team!! #DAA #DifferentlyAbledArchitecture (at Maela Camp)
Just over a year ago #openspace did a series of workshop in the #refugee #camps along Thai-Myanmar border that looked at #shelter designs for those with special need.
