read me a bedtime story

it takes about an hour for the headache to reach minjun’s full pain threshold. first it hits him in the eyes and spreads backwards from there. part of him knows it’s from not wearing his glasses but he hates wearing them— they help him see but they don’t help him read any quicker. when he repeats the same line for the seventh time over, that’s when he calls it quits and gets up from his desk. he’s out the door of his dorm as soon as he can put a pair of pants on.
“ yujin? ” he calls out as his knuckles rasp against his neighbour’s front door, leaning forward to gently rest his sore head on the frame.
The last two hours Yujin spent trying to sleep were wasted staring at the ceiling with no real hope of closing his eyes anytime soon. Clutching the blankets tightly around himself as he turned around for what felt like the thousandth time, facing the wall, he only hoped the plain sight of the white color faintly illuminated by the light coming from outside the window would help him doze off faster. Not this time. With an angry huff, he shoves the covers off of him and stumbles out of the bedroom, turning to the balcony. The air wasn't as chilly as it usually was due to summer fast approaching as he gets closer finish yet another year of college, and this bothered him quite a lot. One more year that went to waste. His thoughts are cancelled, however, by a soft but audible knock on the apartment door that caught him off guard. He doesn't think much before proceeding to open it, inherently curious as to who could be there that late at night — maybe not so much, but for Yujin it felt like hours since he got into bed. The brunette unlocks and smoothly slides the door open to be faced with Minjun, which in itself was still an unexpected sight, he still hasn't gotten used to seeing him almost everyday again.
❛ Ah, Min, ❜ he breathes out, absorbing the view of the smaller boy, taking notice of how tired he looked. ❛ Are you okay? ❜
