i miss the old days

yall i miss the new fandom energy. everyone knew each other, everyone hyped each other up, and nobody was left out or forgotten because when one person noticed content, they’d share it with everyone because it was so scarce at the time.

i miss staying up until 3am for the first time, reading my first ever kotlc fanfic on wattpad, wondering what it would take for my uneducated twelve year old brain to write one of my own.

kotlc made my future. i started writing because of this fandom. and now im missing the old days.

the days where we’d joke about how our fandom was made up of six people, a squirrel, and a shoelace. the days when shannon messenger had a tumblr. when she would like and comment on our instagram posts.

this fandom saved my life, and i love what we’ve become collectively. but now im missing the older days, the days where we’d theorise about who the hell mr. forkle was (even though we all knew that anagram of kerlof).

i think what im trying to say is that i have a longing for something that no longer exists, and i just need to express that to someone other than myself. so here you go, have a longwinded post about me being an old kotlc grandpa.
