Paul McCartney in Get Back, Episode 2
HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAUL MCCARTNEY! ↬ June 18th, 1942, Liverpool
❝ It’s a mystery how all this happened. People stop me in the street, and they can get very emotional. They say, ‘Your music changed my life,’ and I know what they mean – that The Beatles brought something very important to their lives. But it’s still a mystery, and I don’t mind ending up being a mystery. ❞
Love one another.
Rest in peace, George Harrison. 25th February, 1943 — 29th November, 2001
I’ve never seen anything like this on film before. Paul really has nothing at the 30 second mark—but 45 seconds later he’s got the makings of a hit single.
There’s a widespread view that creative people wait for moments of inspiration. But McCartney, at age 26, is literally able to force these moments to happen. What a skill! And note his confidence & absorption. This is what the ‘flow state’ looks like in real time. - Ted Gioia, Author of 11 books including Music: A Subversive History, The History of Jazz, and Delta Blues.
“As a person I can’t help but love ‘im [Paul], I really can’t. He’s very important to me.” (Ringo, 1971)

“She's the lady who wears those flashing eyes”
John, Paul and Ringo decide to meet with George, hoping to convince him to rejoin the band. The meeting does not go well. END OF GET BACK PART I

I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird.

❝ During the shoot, Paul dances and takes almost none of it too seriously and sings along to Motown songs playing from the speakers. A few times Mary scolds, ‘Daaad, try to stand still!’ And it feels like a window into a pretty awesome family dynamic. ❞
