Artemis Fowl was my very first fandom, so hereās a blog dedicated to it! If youād like something tagged let me know! 20 y/o, she/her or xe/xem. Likes and follows come from stewystew
I made a super comprehensive list of all the tags I use here!
(lol I briefly took the hyphens out of my url but then I realized Iād have to edit all my links and I donāt feel like doing that. Also I think it looks better with the hyphens) (I am not currently very active here :/ so this is only accurate for like. A six month period back in 2019 probably. Iām just rbing stuff like once a week now)
Keep in mind that most of these are newer and while I am working my way through my archive to tag them, itās very tedious. All posts from here on out will be tagged like this though! Iām putting an asterisk* by tags that Iāve only added in the last month or so

Categorizing Tags (what kind of a post is it?)
Fanfic and Fanfiction
Art - any post that includes visual art. Also tagged as either digital art or traditional art, and sometimes graphic design (mostly bc the art tag is so fucking long and I felt the need to break it up somehow)
Animation
Cosplay
Video
Audio
Music - playlists, original music, āthis song made me think of this characterā, etc.
Quizzes
Essays - basically any analytical and semi-structured writing that takes up more than 3/4 of my phone screen.
Conversating - any post with at least two people, resembling a conversation
Incorrect Quotes
(Correct) Quotes
Memes
Exchanges Zines Etc - information, announcements, interest gauging for any community-organized event or project
Liveblogging - any kind of live-blogging, by me or anyone else.
Fic Rec
AF RP - any kind of roleplay
Meta - anything that talks about the books/graphic novels/movie in the context of their worldbuilding, storyline, character development, etc.
Metafandom - yāall are so cool that you get your own tag <3
Subject Tags (who, what, where, when)
Character Tags - I use full names for everyone but Butler, and I use Artemis Fowl II to differentiate from the general fandom tag. (consequently, you can find all my original posts under Artemis Fowl). Any OCs are tagged with OC
A Fowl Bunch - when thereās like, too many characters for me to have the energy to tag them all. Iāll probably only tag the more rarely mentioned characters alongside this.
Book Tags - for when a post references a specific book, or the events of a specific book. I tag the full title, for example: book 5 is The Lost Colony, The Fowl Twins is Fowl Twins Book 1, and Artemis Fowl is Book 1
AF Movie - additionally tagged as either movie crit (wow that movie sucked) or movie pos (neutral to positive about the movie)
Eoin Colfer - pretty much any post that at least mentions him by name
Ship Tags - [commonly used ship name] or [character x character] or [character x oc] (these tags use first names)
The People - when weāre talking about The People as a whole, whether about their culture, government, magic, or anything else. I also tag The LEP for posts about it as an organization.
Tech Design - thoughts about or art portraying the more techy side of the booksā sci-fi content
Public Relations - Artemis Fowl and his friends are a very weird group, and itās hard to believe that the general public has not noticed this by now
Orientation Headcanons - For posts explicitly indicating a characterās sexual and/or romantic orientation: I tag with [orientation] [character] and [orientation] headcanons
Trans Headcanons - posts with trans/nb headcanons. Tagged with [trans or nb] [character] and [trans or nb] headcanons
Bullying Artemis - sometimes weāre a little mean to him, and thatās ok, because sometimes he sucks <3
Bby Artemis - pre-canon Artemis
Old Artemis - heās an ADULT now and he has BAD JOINTS
Spartemis (Space Artemis) - heās in space now and I wasnāt sure how to tag those posts by book
AU or Canon Divergence AU - I also usually tag the more easily named aus like superhero au or role swap au along with these
Crossover (except alexmis to avoid clutter) - tagged with [title of the thing], and [name(s) of character(s)]
Not AF - I post off-topic like three times a year max, but this is just in case. Sometimes Iāll put Alex Rider posts on this blog so they donāt get lost on my main.

Wow, thatās a lot! If you notice something missing from any of these lists feel free to let me know!
Also: because I donāt know how to effectively use links and I almost exclusively use mobile, Iām going to reblog this a few times with all these in the tags, in the same order they appear in here
UPDATE: I found out how to link tags so Iām working on that rn
So, I never make gifs, but I decided to make some today. And what am I making them from? The Call Me Artemis Fowl music video. Sorry for sucky quality, but like I said, I donāt do this usually.Ā
no, mother... you should have read my supposed "school field trip" permission slip closer.... i foresaw your betrayal a mile away.... im afraid, mother, it is you who has been sold to one direction
Currently thinking about Artemis's will in the code at the bottom of TLG and how it really kinda shows how strained his relationship with his dad still is. Everyone else gets something they're interested in or that Arty thinks they'd like (sound system for Juliet, frozen chicken for Mulch, ethical investments for his mother, etc) and yet for his father he leaves only bearer bonds, despite Artemis I trying to move away from a money-focused enterprise and lifestyle as of TEC. Not to mention it's Butler who would know how to disengage all the booby traps protecting said bearer bonds, further highlighting the difference in trust & familiarity Artemis has with everyone but his father.
Artemisās relationship with his father is so, so heartbreaking, on both sides of the picture.
Artemis is stuck in permanently viewing his father in a ābeforeā state, the criminal businessman (that tbh was likely more āmythā than reality, by the time of Artemisās childhood- a lot of people forget that Tim was moving away from criminal enterprises by that point, though he probably never communicated such to Artemis because, well, why would he?) Iām listening to TEC in audiobook for the first time, and Artemisās confusion at how his father comes back is terribly sad- it really reads as if, for Artemis, not only has the mythological figure of his father, the criminal businessman, vanished- Timās new values as a father are baffling to him as well.
(I also feel like noting that, from Artemisās POV, a lot of the tension with his parents stems from keeping his secret about the People and his independence. Artemis is relieved to have his father back⦠but not happy at the thought of his schemes being supervised. He sees Timās return as both a joy and a burden on himself)
From Timās POV⦠heās been gone for two years, and knows that heās come back irreversibly changed. Not only physically (do you think seeing all those old portraits of himself in the house hurt, when he came back? I do), but mentally, morally. He was traumatized from the experience. By the time heās come back, heās committed to being a better father and spending more time with Artemis, no longer so focused on money as he once was⦠but in some ways itās too late. That was where he and his son related to each other, and in the absence of that Artemis pulled away from his father instead of finding new means of connection.
Which is heartbreaking because there is common ground there! Tim has an interest in engineering eco-friendly things! He has an interest in industry! He has an interest in learning to be a better person, just like Artemis, but instead of sharing in that with each other, they just⦠donāt, likely due to the literal (Artemis always running away to spend time with the People) and emotional distance thatās been built.
(It makes me so, so sad for Tim because he clearly loves his son, Artemis clearly loves his father, they are a family formed of so much love⦠but once he saved his father, Artemisās interests shifted elsewhere, and I wonder if Tim ever felt a little forgotten in the equation after that)
Next thing you know, Artemis is dead, in-the-ground dead (they probably had to build a coffin. Tim probably had to help bury his son. Can you imagine that?). Sure, he came back, but how does one mend a relationship after that?

Underworld children propaganda:
i like them :]
Children of death. Both displaced from time. Weren't raised together (different mothers, absent father) but love each other all the same.
Hades children I love them!!!!
they are everything to me
They are the best. Protective older sister and younger brother. They live each other still even if one is dead. But like, they are the best duo and they are so cute when they are together. I love their relationship
The tragedy of it all! The fact that Bianca and Nico's relationship was so fractured when Bianca died! The fact that Nico was completely shattered by her death! The fact that Nico brought Hazel back from the dead cause she's his sister and she deserved a second chance! The fact that Bianca and Hazel never even met! The inherent drama of all the underworld children!
They have a telepathic bond (that is later forgotten about). Squirrelflight took in Leafpool's illegal children and raised them as her own. After that was discovered, they were shunned by the rest of the clan (& their children) and only had eachother. They've been through so much, but through all of that they've been there for the other. This is a series that often forgets/ignores relationships like this, especially when they stop being pov characters. Not them though.Eventually they're both close to death and put on trial by StarClan (their afterlife/religious figures) for having the illegal children and lying about them, despite the fact that StarClan themselves told them to do this!! During this they still love eachother so much.Honestly they're probably the strongest sibling relationship in this series
God, where do I start with these two. They go through so damn much together. For starters they have a magical link between the two of them that allows them to know what the other is feeling and sometimes what theyāre doing when they sleep. (This link never gets brought back up again after the arc where theyāre introduced as far as Iām aware). When Leafpool has forbidden kits according to their religion Squirrelflight takes them in as her own and even lies to her mate about it. And then, because it keeps going, when the kids grow up and find out their aunt is actually their mom and one of the kids announces it to everyone Squirrelflight and Leafpool STILL take each otherās sides and power through it together. These two get put through a ludicrous amount of drama and itās so apparent how much they love and care for each other.
Raised each other's children, kept each other's secrets, didn't successfully stop each other from hooking up with bad guys.
Percy and Tyson propaganda:
They love each other so dang much they were the first pair who came to mind when I saw this poll. Even though Percy was kind of off-put at first when he found out Tyson was his brother they grew so close by the end of the second book. And the things Tyson made for Percy saved his ass so many fricken times.
I know they're only half brothers but they're soooo special to me. The fact that Percy's willing to throw hands with anyone insulting Tyson and Tyson makes things for Percy is so cool. I also love Percy's arc in the Sea of Monsters because he goes from kind of resenting Tyson for being his half brother (because now everyone's making fun of Percy for having a cyclops for a brother) but then learns throughout the book how much he loves Tyson and learns to be proud of having Tyson as a brother... they're just so special to me they're the best okay?

Tridentarii propaganda:
Codependent. Fucked up. I can't describe their dynamic well enough but trust me, it sure is something. I'm pretty sure Coronabeth is upset that Ianthe didn't eat her.
Thereās something deeply wrong with them. They are the worst. They look the same but also they look nothing alike. They are identical twins but in a way where you can tell they had the same base structure to build themselves off of and then they went completely different routes. Theyāre horrible. Iām in love with them both.
I think part of what I find compelling about the power struggle(s) at the heart of Artemis (II) and Angeline's relationship later in the series is that both parties see the other as being gravely, perhaps irreparably, wounded by the events prior to B1. Artemis cannot shake the memory of Angeline all but rotting in her bed from grief and likewise, Angeline cannot help but remember Artemis being unable to come to her room because he couldn't bear to see that he was slowly but surely losing his other parent, too
