long road to hell
Just wanted to add this to the pile regarding your normalising fiction post (but I don't have premium).
Writing about something comes in so many flavours. Fiction which contains minors doing adult acts could, for example, be any of:
-themes celebrating the normal experiences of growing up
-a warning about the prevalence of predators
-commentary to highlight the effects of peer pressure
-criticism of poor sex ed in schools
-criticism of purity/shame culture
-support of religious ideals around chastity
-actual CP
While there may be some people with perversions reading/writing such material, when we ban talking about a particular action, we categorise every version and every context of that act as the perversion. And once we start censoring that, we lose the opportunity to read a work and make a judgement on the morality of it. The story about teens for teens with themes of growing up and positive communication in sex, is slapped with the same label as the book glorifying an indiscriminate pedophile.
I think it's an incredibly important feature of society that we are able to read things that we deem as wrong or uncomfortable and be able to discuss them or even criticise them and their authors. Otherwise, the only other options are that some other unseen person with unseen motives decides for us, or entire acts and all their commentary disappears from public view altogether.
Anyway, just my two cents.
Thank you! I appreciate your thoughts
Firing squad, lethal injection, electrocution, and lethal gas are all on the table.
This is disgusting, please read and educate yourself!

you guys seriously need to unpack the reaction you have to trans bodies.
ethel cain creates a lot of art that is shocking, this photoshoot was not that. It’s a gorgeous set of artistic photos with nudity, like so much art and photography. I think people need to grow up and stop acting childish about seeing peoples bodies. nudity has been correlated with truth and divinity for CENTURIES in sculpture, painting, and photography, why is it suddenly different when its a trans body?
I think a lot of mass media (silence of the lambs, sleep away camp, ace ventura) , has used trans bodies as shock value or comedy, and made people forget that these bodies are 1. completely normal and 2. real peoples bodies. the jokes, comments, and reactions to a beautiful woman who has a penis are insane. why can’t those two things both be true in the minds of (cis) people?
GROW. UP.
You are preaching for “trans visibility” but you don’t want to see someone visibly trans.
dirty mind

Ninth House Book Review
Rating: 4/5
Thoughts (no spoilers): Leigh Bardugo is becoming one of my favorite YA novelist. Her stories always wrap me in a world wind of darkness and mystery. One of my favorite things about Ninth House is that you can feel the settings of the book, not just read them. The gloomy streets of an ivy league university, the haunting spirits of ghost, and the forever feeling that someone is always watching you. Bardugo makes this all come alive in Ninth House. I want to save specific character analysis for when I finish the second book Hell Bent, but I would like to note that is a weak point in the novel.
If you love academia, ghosts, magic, or all the above this book is for you.
