The King and I | | Masquerade Ball /Closed
This was a type of dress she had never ever worn before. These were shoes she had never ever worn before. This was a mask she never planned on wearing ever before. All of this was definitely not suited on her, in fact she felt really rather uncomfortable in the dress. If there was one thing she did not like about it the most was the fact it was definitely showing her bust. Especially since her shoulders were not covered or more up to her chest to her neck.
The princess was just far to used to being fully clothed for this. That, and she had little experience in wearing heels. The only time she wore heels was when she had to blend in with the towns folk when traveling with Raju. The boots she wore though didn’t really have a heel on them though. So still she was stumbling around in her heels trying to get her balance while gripping her dress and pulling it up a little so she would not step on it and trip on it. This was a rather hard task to do in reality.
One little step at a time, that’s all she needed to do. One little step at a time. First her right foot, then the left, then the righ — oh she almost tripped again. This just wasn’t going to work out for her very well. The princess was already getting stares and it was making her get nervous and turn bright red. To the shadows in the corner by the pillars, that would be where she could lurk at. No one would bother her there hopefully, honestly she still didn’t know why she came here in the first place. Hopefully she could get through it all fine.
Almost there, she was almost there to the place she would seek shelter at. As she got closer, she didn’t realize she didn’t have her dress up high as it needed to be for her to walk and not step on. When she took her foot again to step forward, she ended up stepping on part of her dress and ended up falling forward.
She squeezed her eyes shut, ready to hit the ground and make more of an embarrassment of herself. Though she never did meet the ground as she expected. Instead she felt an arm halting her fall and having a steady grasp on her to make sure she wouldn’t go down to the ground. She gently put a hand on the person’s arm, to steady herself back up and looked up at the face of her savior from making her more embarrassed.
Of course she had no idea who this person was, she couldn’t tell who anyone was really with the masks on. It was really hard to tell. Still, she was thankful to this man for helping her. ” U-Um . . thank . . you very much . . ! ” The princess manage to get out through her social anxiety feeling rising up in her stomach. Her face was already going red due to what happened, but nonetheless she was still grateful.
Gaius found the regal wear to be quite intriguing , though it was nothing out of the ordinary for him to be clothed in such. A simple black and white tux fitted for both his height and build, accompanied by a red venetian mask that made him blend in with the crowd of attendees. "How splendid." He mused quietly to himself as ruby hues glossed over the entire museum and all its people who attended.
No one knew who each other were but they still continued to dance along as if they weren't strangers. But for the king, he'd humbly deny any dancing for now. He stepped through the crowd to make the attempt to the refreshments but instead assisting in Matsurika's triumph tripping. "Excuse me -" quick to catch and apologize, he would stare longingly at the other as if he knew her. The point of the masquerade was to be hidden wasn't it? "Are you alright?" Gaius cleared his throat as he helped her recover, clearly she wasn't made for those heels.
