time for the long awaited connor roy post. as some know, connor has been my absolute favorite succession character ever since i started watching. heās always stood out to me and i will defend him through everything. even when the first two seasons were airing and no one took him seriously, and everyone thought he was just another rich asshole, i saw through that and what i found was a man who was put in the position of a father figure out of necessity and not out of his own will. i donāt have any siblings but iāve always wanted one or more. if i could have anyone be my brother, it would be connor roy (or someone similar to him). the amount of care and support he gives to his family is incredible and it always goes unnoticed. everyone says that roman is the most ignored or made fun of sibling, and i do think he is up there. but no one comes closer than connor. he has always taken the beating of it means he can help his family or quell a fiery argument. countless times weāve seen him be the only character with any morals and lack of an agenda. everything he does is because he genuinely loves his family. he puts everyone above himself and has always done this. even in the siblings childhood, connor was always there for them. roman tells a story that logan took him fishing once and when asked about it, he admitted that it was actually connor who took him. and when kendall messes with connor by telling everyone about him āshitting his bagā, connor understandably gets upset and says that the only reason it happened was because he took all the siblings fishing because logan didnāt want to. he is the only father figure the siblings had and he didnāt even have one himself. not only this, but he also didnāt have a mother figure. of course caroline isnāt the best mother, but sheās better than nothing. connorās mother was sent away to a mental hospital when he was younger and he rarely talks about it. in fact, his motherās name isnāt ever even revealed. all we know is that she was sent away and while that happened, logan would get the staff to give connor ālooney cakeā so that heād stop crying about his mother. and when this is addressed itās used as leverage in an attempt to get back at logan and itās not even connor who mentions it!!!! itās kendall. and when he mentions it, connor tells him to stop. but just like always, they take him for granted once again. the only reason that theyāre even remotely well adjusted and not genuinely terrible people without any redeeming qualities is because connor raised them as best he could. he was only around 12 years old when he was out in that position and he did better than their own actual father. heās so overlooked and rarely discussed and itās extremely disappointing. when he is spoken about, itās people making fun of him. he is the most important character in the show and i genuinely believe that. without him, none of the siblings would be the way they are. theyād somehow be worse. so take some time to thank connor roy for everything heās done. i would do anything for a hug from him i just KNOW he gives a good hug.
