Howard looked back up at him, feeling that he should say something but unable to think of anything. "It's all good, sorry for being in your way. Heh, It seems like everyone's got somewhere to go this time of year."

Howard wasn't usually one to drink, however he hated the holidays. As if he needed another reminder that his entire family was dead or in a mental asylum. He was walking through town on his way to the pub, completely lost in his own thoughts, when he bumped into the man, "Oh, my apologies." He muttered under his breath.

Howard sat in the clearing in the woods, the winter air was cool and the forest floor was covered in small patches of snow. He let out a sigh, "Gods be damned, is anybody out there?!" He called out.

He nodded slowly, to say that Howard was a intellectual would have been an understatement, however the reality was that outside of Massachusetts, he knew almost nothing of the outside world. “It’s okay. Do you travel often? You don’t seem to discouraged by the prospect of being in uncharted territory.”

“That easy to tell?” The teen asked an amused smile playing on his lips. “I travel pretty often. I think this is the farthest I’ve ever been out of my region actually.” The azure haired boy explained before chuckling. “I think I got pretty lost somewhere along the line though.”

Howard glanced back at him, with what was almost a concerned look on his face. "Your pretty young to be traveling so far off by yourself, your parents know your out here alone?" he asked, "I won't turn you in if your a run away, I know what it's like to need to leave."

"Good." He said with a nod as he began to walk towards town, "Johto and Kanto? Can’t say I’ve ever heard of those places before. Mind me asking where they are? I’ve never been much of a worldly traveler myself, I always preferred staying with familiar scenery."

“I actually can’t describe it like that.” Luken explained following the older man. “Where I come from they’re regions pretty close to each other. In fact only a mountain separates them.” He chirped out out folding his arms behind his head.

"Sorry I don’t know how else to explain it."

Howard had forced himself into a state of complete isolation for the past few months as he desperately tried everything in his power to write a story he could actually be satisfied with. He despised his own writing, and even the stories he did finish he would usually throw out once he read the final product. Finally he had managed to make something he thought was publishable. A short story entitled "The Call of Cthulhu". He put on his coat and walked out into the freezing New England air as he set out to the bus stop. Once he got there, all he could do was wait. The bus would be there any minute hopefully.

“I’m Luken!” The blunet exclaimed, a giant smile on his face. “It’s nice to meet you Howard!” Luken said before letting his eyes flicker up and down. ‘He must not be a trainer; they don’t usually dress like that.’ He thought before looking around. “Mind telling me where I am? I kind of got lost walking and I don’t know the layout of this place.”

"Your in Dunwich, Massachusetts." He explained, "Nice to meet you Luken, if your lost, I recommenced you come into town now and we can figure out how you might be able to get back on track tomorrow, it’s not safe to be alone out here at night."

“Massachusetts? Dunwich? Those aren’t in Johto or Kanto…” He trailed off trying to wrap his head around the new location. “I must be pretty lost then. Well if we’re going to town then I’ll follow your lead!” He finished with a big smile on his face. “I’ll take your word for then dangerous part.”

The azure teen looked around surprised. This was what where he wanted to end up…Where was this anyway? He had just wandered and ended up here. In front of whomever this was.  He stared dumbly for a moment, before smiling. Maybe this person was friendly? “Hello!” He called out, his eyes twinkling with happiness. He was always willing to meet new people. “Who are you?”

Howard quickly realized that the man meant no harm and he relaxed, slipping his notebook into his jacket pocket, “Uh, I’m Howard, and who might you be?” He was confused by how the teen looked, between the blue hair and the sleeveless shirt he wasn’t like anyone he had seen before.

The Lady From the Mirror

Howard had just gotten home from a trip to the market, carrying in what little he could manage to afford on his small salary and placing it on the kitchen counter. When he went into his room to hang his jacket, he jumped back when he saw the figure standing in the mirror. Quickly looking around the room, he realized that he was the only one there, yet the woman remained in the mirror. Howard was entirely aware that certain sourcerers were capably of perjecting their image onto a mirror, but the face which he saw was entirly new to him. 

"Uh… W-who are you?" Was all he could manage to ask, slowly and cautiously walking forward.

She didn’t expect this man to see her. Pretty much she forgot: her reflection was seen because she was a spirit. She turned around, unsure of he could see her completely or not.

"So you can see me?" She blinks, "Can you hear me?"

Many humans couldn’t. Those that did would hear her sad tone that she wouldn’t really be speaking in. Haunting for a spirit that sometimes it scared people away just by hearing her.

He nodded, "Yes, yes I can... W-Who are you exactly?" Dunwich was a strange place, with many paranormal activities going on without the townsfolk knowing, but wandering spirits was something that Howard had not encountered in the past.

"Heh, you’ve never been in the city before, have you?" Howard asked, seeming slightly amused by the thought, having grown up in the city himself, "Can’t say I ever enjoyed city life, too much is always going on when your not looking."

"I would hate living in the city, to be honest. I mean sure, it’s big and there are a lot of possibilities. But more people to judge you.. Still, it’s huge though!" She smiled slightly as she looked over at Howard. "You’re right.. Now I suggest you lead the way before we’re going to be late."

"Yes good point, it’s not to far from here." He said, turning as he began to walk briskly down the sidewalk. They still had some time before his appointment, but he’d prefer to get there early rather than late.

Nina smiled as she walked beside him, reaching over to grab Howard’s hand. “I’m sure you got it this time. They can’t possibly say no to that story. And I could possibly help if it’s needed, right?” She looked up at him, giving his hand a light, reassuring squeeze.

"Uh... yea," Howard said, going back to his usual, nervous self upon touching another human being, "I sure hope your right. You know, I'm not sure if they'll let you come in with me once I head in for my meeting, I highly doubt it, you may end up waiting for me."
