Oh... That makes 2 of us. I found myself in this strange place one day... alone. A kind gimmick blog took me in and we became great friends. I haven't seen them in a while. *The mimic looks away, suddenly upset.*

What were they like?

They were... kind. And funny. They liked to count letters. I would help them out from time to time. Aside from their gimmick, we had a lot of fun doing other things together.

But I grew bored. I left to start my own blog where I could do more than what their gimmick limited me to. As a mimic, I don't know the first thing about making my own gimmick, so I copy others. I try not to let others notice, but some still do... It's difficult. Sometimes I wish I could go back...

That sounds difficult. You seem like a good person, mimic or not.

You shouldn't be ashamed of your aspirations, just keep doing what you're doing, day by day.

I likely will, though it seems I'm anchored to "Exclamania". I always find my way back there when wandering.

And some pointers would be nice. I already got a small but still negative reaction earlier... They didn't seem all too comfortable with the forms I took..

Ahh... Exclamania. I've been there before. Not my favorite place to be. Too crowded. Lot's of roleplay as well which is not my strong suit.

I did see that while exploring your blog. Be careful, many gimmicks don't take kindly to mimics. Especially when you get their gimmick wrong. I've made my fair share of mistakes. If you make a mistake, try to ignore it and correct it next time. Try not to engage with the real blog if they correct you. That only draws more attention to you. You do not want it to look like the blog is speaking to themself.

Speaking of, avoid mimicking the blog you are speaking to. It will make them suspicious of you. Instead, mimic one of their friends, or "mutuals" as they call them here, to gain their trust. These will be blogs you see them interact with more often. As their friend, try to speak as similarly as possible. I saw how you greeted one of the residents of Exclamania. Be confident in the form you are using, and don't use multiple in one post, and they will not be as wierded out.

Mimicking blogs takes a lot of research. I know you can do it, though!
