…..not even six hours later i got an offer of a well paying full time long-term job with free room and board in queens in nyc, allowing me independence and a way to escape an abusive situation and an unhealthy environment

i’m obsessed with these shakespeare editions
Utterly obsessed with these Shakespeare playbook covers from the late 1960s by Paul Hogarth
Me, wandering around the house looking for my phone: “O phoneo, phoneo! Wherefore art thou phoneo?”
Why do Shakespeare character discussions not bring up how wild Iago is in Othello?
Iago: 1. Is described by many as honest and true
2. Is considered a close companion of Othello
3. Wants to kill Othello so bad
4. Gives no singular reason why he wants to kill Othello and absolutely destroy his life
Because this means that either Iago is a murderous bastard to his core who played the long game of being really nice and friendly and fair to everyone, including the man he wants to kill, for so many years that everyone considers those his defining traits and the guy he is plotting to kill thinks they’re really good friends
Or he was a genuinely awesome person for years until something happened that completely altered his personality and driving force of his life
And we never know which is the answer or why he’s doing it cause whenever anyone asks what the fuck is up with him he just
An old piece from back in school
Othello, betrayed: You tricked me! Iago: No, I merely deceived you. "Tricked" makes it sound like we have a playful relationship.
I've only read 1 act of Othello but hot take— Iago and Roderigo are just Yzma and Kronk

I understand the Fury in your words,
But not the words.
Desdomona (Othello)
"Her clothes spread wide;
And, mermaid-like, awhile they bore her up:
Which time she chanted snatches of old tunes;
As one incapable of her own distress,
Or like a creature native and indued
Unto that element: but long it could not be
Till that her garments, heavy with their drink,
Pull'd the poor wretch from her melodious lay
To muddy death.”
