Two years ago, I had a Deaf girl show up in my drivethru on Halloween. Her mom was kind of sad when I tried to offer the girl candy, and you could tell it’d been a rough night. I asked her to get the girl’s attention, and then signed to her the way I learned from those top gifs. She started laughing and clapping her hands at once, and when I held out the bowl of candy she was DELIGHTED. I think there’s a very serious possibility I was the only person all night who was able to share with her that way.

I know overthinking or thinking late nights isnt a thing Im supposed to do, but since I am, I have thought of all the things that went on in the last 2 years and know that I really was trying to find a way to make it all right. There are things someone tried to claim I didnt or did do and now the blame has fallen on me in one way or another. For one of them, I wanna say this: I'm sorry. I gave it the best I could. Hope you can forgive me. The other thing is one I can't apologize for because it wasn't my fault. Every weekend in the fall semester, I would go to, at that time, my partner's house and just try to be with him in a way that would be intimate but not physical. Everytime I went, he would start the physical act without proper consent which is how he became my partner in the first place. I wish I could go back and undo that, but there's no way to. I just wish I hadn't ever thought he might've been a match for me. I wish I didnt overthink or think as much as I do, but it is how it must be. For a wound to heal, you must know it is there. I'm going to try to sleep. Goodnight/ morning to anyone who reads this.
