final mental illness musing of the night but as you all know, i’ve suffered from an extremely severe case of depression since i was a toddler. and one of the most infuriating things about growing up this way was how many adults seem to just not understand that children can be depressed. sure, you may associate depression with teen years, but there are plenty of kids 12 and under who are deeply, deeply depressed and it’s just completely overlooked. When I talk about how early my suicidal behaviors started, people go ‘wow! i had no idea that it could start so young?’ but i have several friends who were also depressed as kids and i don’t think it’s that uncommon. i mean, bullying is frequent in children’s lives and yet you don’t think an 8 year old can get suicidal? It all goes back to people not seeing children as people, of course. Considering them not capable of complex emotions. I just feel for all the kids who go untreated because their parents haven’t stopped to think if theres a reason why their kid spends all their time in their room.

There was an earthquake just recently, possibly 7.1 magnitude

Fortunately me and all of the ppl close in my life are okay but some of their homes did suffer some damage and are searching for other places to stay at

Yes some buildings did collapse and unfortunately many remained trapped underneath so I am praying that they can all be rescued safe and sound

We don't know much else as it is a very recent thing that happened just around 4 hours ago

I am fine, I was at a mall when it happened and I genuienly thought I was about to die, but fortunately I'm more calm down and I'm currently at one of my grandma's place as she is deathly afraid of these events and afterwards my dad will drive us home

To my fellow Venezuelans, please stay safe, if you or soneone you know has someone trapped under the collapsed buildings the i will pray thay they be rescued and you can all reunite after. If you have any electricity I recommend you charge everything just in case the electricity gets shut off across the entire city

in case you haven't heard, parts of venezuela were recently hit by a series of earthquakes, affecting communities across the country.

as venezuela is my home country, all of this hits especially close to home. thankfully, my family and loved ones are safe since they were in cities not as severely affected. however, many others have not been as fortunate and are now facing the aftermath of these events.

years of political and economic instability have left many communities with limited resources and infrastructure, making it even more difficult to respond to emergencies like this. there are reports of people who remain missing, and many families are still waiting for news about their loved ones. rescue efforts have been made even more difficult by shortages of equipment, ambulances, and other emergency resources needed to respond to a disaster of this scale.

if you're able to, please consider sharing information, supporting verified relief efforts, or simply helping spread awareness about what is happening.
