The time has come for an explanation. I owe everyone an explanation for what happened to this rp, and for my future plans for it.
If you are a former member of this roleplay reading this, then I have one thing to say:
I am sorry. I am so so sorry. I honestly do not think I can apologise enough for just disappearing with no explanation. And although that was almost two years ago now, I think any of you that might still check this blog deserve that explanation.
I have never been good with stress. My first instinct is always to just withdraw from stressful situations and hope they go away, and this roleplay caused me a lot of stress. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely adored it and still do, but running a roleplay is hard. It was supposed to be a fun escape, but it quickly turned into a second job that was more stressful than my real one. Coping with troubles in my work, personal and suddenly admin life proved too much for me. When I saw that activity was starting to falter, I panicked and ran away. I felt like I had failed because I was struggling to keep this place alive, and rather than confront these feelings or talk to any of you (which I absolutely should have done), I just abandoned everything. I did not even give you the courtesy of a shutdown notice and left those remaining in confusion as to what the state of the rp was.
As the founding admin of this rp, I had many triumphs that I was proud of, but I also made many mistakes. The way I left things was immature and disrespectful to all of you. But now a new year has begun, and I feel more mature and able to cope. I am still incredibly proud of this roleplay and the world-building, and it remains one of my greatest creative accomplishments. And now I feel I have matured, I would like to consider reopening this place. When I was running this rp, I took on too much at once. I was trying to be a general admin, a writer, a roleplayer, an agony aunt, plus so many other things. Despite the help I received, I was still a control freak. Handing the reigns over to anyone else made me very paranoid, because I wanted creative control over everything. I realise that now. If I reopen this roleplay, it will first undergo an intensive revamp. Although the general theme, plot, and some characters will remain, I want to start from scratch. I do not want to repeat the mistakes I made before, and since I believe a lot of those mistakes lay in the creative choices and over-reaching when it came to characters and world building, I want a clean slate. The world of Nysa will be entirely rebuilt, with new characters and kingdoms and a more cohesive plot, with some characters being changed completely and some sent back to the beginning of their story.
But the reason I am telling you all this now is because despite the large overhaul I want to do of this place, I still have so much respect for the members that stayed for so long. Your unwavering commitment and love for this place even when I abandoned it is so amazing, and I have nothing but respect for you. And so, if you want to return to this place, I will welcome you with open arms. I will work with you on your characters, helping you to update them and include them in this new world, while holding onto all the development you had for them. I have no desire to remove the character of anyone who may want to return. Our ooc blog still exists should you wish to use that, or you can message the main blog.
Nothing is set in stone, but I do want to bring this place back. Hopefully I can achieve that, and hopefully many of you will return. But I understand it has been a long time, and we all move on. I hold nothing against you.

Desired Character: Arabella Dumont.
Secondary Character Choice: Isabella Darkwood. I’ll more than likely bring Seren back at some point in the future, too, but for right now my muse for her is still gone.
Why do you want to play this character?: Arabella would be the oldest woman I’ve ever written for a roleplay group, and also the only mother. It’d be really interesting for me to try my hand at it. I love that Arabella is generally a peaceful person, but doesn’t care to take down anyone who gets in the way of her or Annaliese.
How do you think you could develop this character?: I’d really like to explore Arabella’s role on the council and how that affects how she gets on with other elves. And obviously I’d also love to explore her relationship with her daughter and write plenty of bonding between the two. Now that Arabella has a second chance at life, I think she’ll be far more focused on finding her own love and contentment than her ambitions.

We say a month, but we've relaxed that rule since it's finals season. With so many players having exams and work, we're being lenient with activity checks.
