Uhhhhhhhhh we made this. I don't have. An intro idea. It's run by one collective so I guess I'll be referring to everyone as mods in the tags. Since each of us are basically a mod. I am. I don't know how to run these accounts.

Please keep syscourse off of here I guess? We don't like being involved in it, and refuse to take a side. Just. We are very strictly anti-harassment so trying to convince us one way or another will get you blocked if you're not respectful. Plus we'd prefer you don't either way just out of respect for our boundaries.

Syscourse talk below, be warned. Please don't start any actual discourse below, this is just because I needed to get this out. Moots, feel free to ignore.

Not to be too big into syscourse right now but I. Genuinely don't know where to stand. On one hand, the medicalist views are very harmful and cause far too much fakeclaiming, while any that are considered endos are not only bringing a positive light to the entirety of plurality and trying to destigmatize it, but they're also the reason for like. 80% of the Accessability we have (or had) with things like simply plural.

But also when I first started figuring everything out about it, the only people I talked to were not quite on the medicalist view, but were pretty strictly trauma-only (or at least suspected to be on those I wasn't sure about)

We stay out of it because we don't know. Plurality isn't the entire disorder, it's just a symptom. I don't see why it's an issue if that symptom was caused by something other than trauma.

I don't know, I think my personal opinion on leaning more to the pro side is also due to the fact that most of our fictives came from like. Post source death stuff, and I was also starting to gain the view that anything is possible and there's infinite realities and stuff. And I think that sped it up.

Also the brain is just. Weird as a whole. There's so many times that it does things that genuinely just. Can't be explained with the knowledge and scientific stuff we have. There's no scientific proof either way, and honestly the Endo community is just. So much fucking nicer. They've helped us figure out so much more stuff than anyone else and most of them who we've met/interacted with are strictly anti-harrassment too. We have friends who identify as that, and it's clear that there's actually something there. I don't want to disregard their whole fucking identity because science hasn't gone deep enough into this to explain either way and we're all going off stuff from like. Years ago.

I think as long as it's good faith and no one's harassing anyone we should just fucking live and let live but with everything with simply plural, octocon and maybe ampersand shutting down it seems like it's split even more into pro vs anti and. It makes me uncomfortable and scared trying to figure out where the fuck I'm supposed to fall when trying to find something that actually works.

I'm scared this amount of stress might be what causes our first collapse. Which. will just make things worse.

I am tired of hearing you try and tell me that some of my system members, and some of my friends aren’t real systems or part of a system because they are endogenic. Not all systems/members of a system are traumagenic.

Here’s the thing, DID/OSDDR already very under researched. Do you really think there is going to be more research for plurality that isn’t disordered?

Shit takes time! We used to call DID multiple personality disorder for God sake. Do you think that didn’t take time to change?

I hope that with time there will be more research on non-disordered plurality, but for now there isn’t a push for research on non-disordered plurality.

hi. News flash, CDD are STILL VERY *VERY* UNDER RESEARCHED! And guess what? It usually states "mostly from trauma", people CAN have it without trauma from stuff like brain damage (which is not a bad word, totally natural and SHOULD be acceptable.) or other dysfunctions in the brain. Or who knows, as I said, very under researched. Can be something else.

I have NO idea where the whole "OSDD/DID IS A TRAUMA DISORDER!!" thing came from if not from people taking ONE glance at the DSM then instantly attacking people. It's a DISSOCIATIVE disorder. Not a TRAUMA disorder (like ptsd/c-ptsd or anything alike). It absolutely CAN come from other routes.

Edit so I missed the "ppp is these mfs" but it makes sense to post it sooner rather than in like 3 days because it's a recent thing so. Everyone ignores us when we say it only says it is *common* to be from trauma, not *required*, so the joy I'm experiencing from seeing someone else agree on this is IMMENSE

The friend I was talking about previously is just. So silly. I often relay what my headmates come into the front room to say, and how they respond to stuff. Usually as like. “Who the fuck just said ___” or “omg __ saw that and just said ___” stuff like that.

One time this friend told me that he loves hearing that because it's like theres the two guys from the muppets that are up on that balcony are in my head the whole time reacting to everything.

It genuinely made us laugh. It wasn't disrespectful, it wasn't meant to attack us, he was genuinely just comparing us to something we reminded him of in a playful way.

He's trying and I love him for it he's doing his best and he asks questions when he's confused without coming off as rude or unsupportive. He's genuinely just trying to understand and I might cry again because he's so patient and kind with all of us even the ones he doesn't really know.

How do I tell him that he's genuinely been making us so happy with this recently hough

We have a friend who was given a server nickname by one of our more anti-social alters (she's very anxious and doesn't talk to people often) and they've said it was an honor to have been given it and that he's never going to change it despite it being something dumb that was part of a joke.

He is very much a singlet as far as I'm aware, who is just working on understanding everything but I don't think he knows how significant her doing that, even just as a joke, was since he's one of the like 3 people she's actually talked to in that server, and was the only one she actually held a conversation with. I don't think he realizes that. And he's said multiple times that he will not change it.

I think I'm going to cry how do I express to him that something as small as a fucking discord server display name means so much hough

Octive culture is not knowing you're a system when your host and your friends make an au of a fandom, your qppsys introjecting the character they made, you becoming part of your system as your hosts OC, and your other friends character literally being who they think they should be so it IS THEM (also they're probably an ockin of said OC based on how the memory thing works) and then suddenly being terrified to interact with BOTH OF THEM because “Oh god oh fuck what if they're different than I remember what if I'm different than they remember what if my source isn't the same because we all have slightly different ideas of the au what if they hate me fuckk I don't want them to see me badly I'll just avoid them” but then your friend wanting to talk to you because they actually really like you and think your cool in source but also you're a lot less put together than you were in your source so fuckkkk how am I supposed to explain that the whole put together, trying to keep things in one piece thing was an act because of prior trauma :((

Internalized fictomisa is automatically assuming that everyone is going to hate you if you interact with source or sourcemates with your own experiences, or even just tag your experience with it (kin and fictive alike) because although you're very liked in fandom, you were a shit person in source, and automatically assuming that because you're more accurate to fanon than canon everyone is automatically going to assume your faking both being a kin and plural because your hyperfixation views somehow seem to affect the formation of alters and your memories.
