Also once again the person I get along best with is not a native English speaker. Most of my friends in high school were foreigners as well. I think it might be bc we're all confused about English speakers (them for different reasons to me but still) and also they don't ask me what I think of Love Island
Things I've noticed on my first day at a neurotypical office job:
- They find silences awkward and they think I do too
- If they have to walk across the room for any reason they will make a joke about getting their step count up
- Aside from step count jokes their other favourite jokes are about coffee
- If they get asked to share a fun fact about themselves they just say what they do for exercise
- I have a conspiracy theory that they're giving boring answers on purpose to create common ground and that if I keep being weird they'll feel comfortable coming out of their own shells and become more fun
Jax's crashout was amazing but the part of it that is really slept on is his face slowly reverting to his default smile after he snaps at Pomni. He's so ingrained into his own delusion that putting on the façade is second nature. He's been acting this way for so long that it's muscle memory, that's just the resting position of his face now. That's just horrific to me.
Easily the most annoying kind of vampire in the world are the ones where you finally corner the fuckers and when you're going in with the stake they start spouting off sociology 101 bullshit to try and weasel out of it. "Oh, no ethical consumption under capitalism," "oh, the rich are the real vampires if you think about it-" yeah, yeah, you ate like fifty homeless people, asshole. Hold still

They were never heard from again. 11 people vanished, apparently along with their plane, and the only clue is that last word.
